Very limited physical - only contact with body was a heart rhythm listen and check of lower legs for edema. No awareness of tests appropriate for geriatric patients such as offered by Lifeline Screening.

Dr Backman is an excellent PCP. He has been my doctor for the last 5 or so years and I have been very happy with his care. He thinks very carefully about everything and does not always accept the general opinion and in my case came up with better care for me.

Should pay more attention to what a patient has to say. Should be less bureaucratic. His job is not only filling medical forms and checking boxes.

Yes, I found that the provider had more of a conversation with my partner than he had with me. I almost wanted to say to the doctor, hey, I'm the patient here. You can talk with me about my situation. And don't take that as a means just because I'm [redacted] that I don't understand what is going on. And I'm very capable of taking care of myself and very capable of having a discussion with a doctor.
