And when I wanted a referral to a therapist, he said, "Well you know it's so subjective there's no point." Additionally, I always feel as though I'm on the clock. I consider myself fortunate to have stumbled on to Dr Backman in this present unstable climate of hard-to-find, competent, genuinely caring, physicians. He is abusy man in a busy clinic who nonetheless leaves the impression of having all the time in the world. He's sui generis.

Dr. Backman is an intelligent, concerned physician. He listens carefully and compassionately while assessing the issues the patient is presenting. I feel very comfortable with his expertise and diagnoses. All the times we were referred to a specialist, his diagnoses were echoed by them. I feel my husband and my health care are in the most capable hands.

Dr. Backman is a thorough, careful and considerate provider. I feel extremely lucky to have him as my primary care physician.

Very limited physical - only contact with body was a heart rhythm listen and check of lower legs for edema. No awareness of tests appropriate for geriatric patients such as offered by Lifeline Screening.

Dr Backman is an excellent PCP. He has been my doctor for the last 5 or so years and I have been very happy with his care. He thinks very carefully about everything and does not always accept the general opinion and in my case came up with better care for me.

Should pay more attention to what a patient has to say. Should be less bureaucratic. His job is not only filling medical forms and checking boxes.
