The doctor was outstanding. The medical assistants were good. They knew all my medical history when I got there, which was very impressive because I've gone to other doctors and they start reading the charts when I'm there. They were very familiar with all my problems before I got there. I was very comfortable with the whole experience.

Dr. Mela listened to my problems, explained my situation in detail and answered all of the questions that I had. She spend time with me and the day after I left I had questions about my medications and the staff answered them promptly. I am very satisfied with the care I was given.

I was able to get a consultation on short notice which was great. Records transfers from my other doctors were difficult to get completely but MGB doctor took the time to ask me questions to fill in the gaps.

She clearly told me the benefits of going to Mass General and told me to consider weather I wanted to stay local with umass or travel a distance to Boston. We ended our conversation with me thinking about the distance. She offered to do the abalation within 30 days.

Everything went as expected. The first Dr. that saw me (after the medical assistant) took a thorough history of my health, medicines etc. After she left, it was about 40 minutes before Dr. Mela came in. I was not angry, I was just concerned that I may have "fallen through the cracks". She explained that she and the first Dr. had been discussing my case and that it took longer than expected. Perfectly acceptable.

Dr. Mela is a very good listener and compassionate about her patient. Her wise recommendations were well received by my regular cardiologist as i was seeing her for a second opinion. I hope to go back to her if and when I get confused about my care. She exudes confidence and care plus good judgment-which we all seek.
