Steven L Hersch, MD

Dr. Hersch has enjoyed a diverse career in adult primary care serving patients as an internist in private practice, as part of small and large group practices (including concierge medicine), and as a hospitalist in a medical center-based practice. Additionally, his background includes leadership positions in hospital administration, medical affairs, and health system quality and safety. Dr. Hersch has served as both author and editor of patient-facing medical education tools throughout his career. His move to Massachusetts General Hospital's Concierge Medicine practice returns him to his core passion in medicine: helping patients navigate the health care system by providing comprehensive, relationship-based healthcare.

He earned his medical degree at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Dr. Hersch has practiced medicine in both California and Oregon and is excited to return to Boston where he began his career. When not seeing patients, Dr. Hersch enjoys woodworking, particularly woodturning. He and his wife are learning to blow glass and are looking forward to exploring New England.
