I did feel he was a little rushed, but we also had no big concerns, just a physical. Friendly as always, tries to make my nervous kids comfortable.

we've seen Dr Nishiyama for years at this point, but i must say this visit for our physical I felt quite rushed and not given enough time/opportunity to ask about my concerns. There was nothing too serious, but I feel he usually allows time for me (mom) to discuss any concerns, this time he just jumped into physical exam and i was forced to ask questions quickly while he did that. [redacted] I left feeling like I may need to email some of my concerns since we didn't really discuss. Hoping it was a one off experience.

Dr. Nishiyama is excellent with patients that have special needs. Both my children have autism and he's always been very good with them. [redacted]

Dr. Nishiyama is so Kind and compassionate, my kids feel at ease with him. He engages them and makes them laugh so hard. They look forward to seeing him cause he speaks to them at their level and lightens the moment. I trust him with my kids as well as his nurses. My kids have been coming to MGH west since birth.

Dr Nishiyama saw my daughter for a shoulder injury. She is a swimmer. He was AMAZING at talking to my daughter on why she needs to take care of this injury and not start back swimming too soon. He asked her if she considered herself an athlete and she said yes. He said true athletes take care of their body and listen to their body. They feel their bodies healthy foods and rest when they need to. He asked if she wanted to continue to swim and someday compete at a higher level like high school and college. She said yes. Well then you need to not swim and rest your shoulder otherwise you won't be able to continue swimming at the level you dream about. I just thought this was a fantastic approach to a [redacted] year old and have been sharing this story all weekend with other parents! I am so grateful!

Dr. Nishiyama is a fantastic pediatrician. He was my pediatrician and I was able to get him for my first son. I'm thrilled with the care. He puts our mind at ease and gives us helpful information.

I have been seeing Dr. Nishiyama for almost two decades now and have had nothing but positive experiences in his office. From the first time when I saw him as a second-grader to now being in medical school myself, he has always addressed all of my concerns thoroughly and explained things in ways that were very easy to understand. I am so lucky to have such an amazing provider!
