I have been a patient of Dr. Stephen Tarpy for many years. It is always pleasant and informative when I see him. He listens and is concerned with my well being - especially after my recent bout with pneumonia. He asks about my recovery and tells me not to hesitate not call him with any of my future concerns. He is knowledgeable about my condition and is thorough with my yearly exam. Give him a raise!!!

It was my second annual visit with Dr. Tarpy. So far I have confidence in him. I look forward to continuing as his patient.

First visit. I brought my sleep study done five years ago in another state. I hadn't been monitored by a sleep doctor for three years since I moved from another state. I waited eight months for a first appointment, had to reschedule, and waited another five months for my first appointment. It was worth the wait. He read my initial sleep study results quickly and understood. His questioning about my situation five years ago and how I feel now was confusing and his notes about my responses were not as clear as I wanted them to be but overall he got a fairly accurate picture. He reassured me that my current sleep data indicated my apnea therapy was appropriate and my settings were still appropriate. He determined I did not need a new sleep study. He assured me he would provide a prescription for continuation of sleep therapy with Res Med and my durable supply provider. He explained he could monitor my data directly with Res Med. He explained there were no travel sized machines for bipap, which I am using. He answered all of my questions and instructed my durable supply provider that I am now eligible for a new machine to be covered by Medicare (current machine is 5 years old and qualifies for replacement). He examined my airway and listened to my lungs and heart and reassured me there were no complications. We discussed my concern about the phlegm I am experiencing in my throat which causes me to frequently clear my throat. He prescribed flonase once a day, which already has helped. He sent the Rx to the correct pharmacy and asked my insurance to provide it, which they did. On that day I happened to be experiencing reddness, puffiness, and itching on my cheeks and all around my eyes. He felt it was probably an allergic reaction to something undetermined and his impression was also that it was not a reaction to my sleep mask or headgear for the mask. I left the visit with all my questions answered and feeling reassured and relieved. I will definitely continue to see this provider and am grateful he is located very near where I live.

Dr. Stephen Tarpy was very happy to see me. He had reviewed my record from South Shore Hospital and was aware of the medications that I had been placed on. He changed a medication when I told him of the side effects. And, he stated very clearly that I was to remain on Eliquis for the rest of my life. He asked me questions about my breathing and my current oxygenation level. He listened to my lungs and heart. He ordered blood work. Prior to my arrival, he had checked my CPAP stats. And, made an appointment for 6 months.
