After going to many other eye specialists, especially for cataracts, I stumbled upon Dr. Brauner and at this time she's got me on the straight way knowing exactly what my needs are. She is versed in my ongoing medical issues and made it a priority to see me as soon as she could, I appreciate her concern in line with my concerns. It helped alleviate my anxiety.

First off, the nurse / PA who did the refraction estimates was extremely helpful in my getting, for the first time ever in an eye doctor or optometry office, the most accurate possible prescriptions for laptop and monitor distances (reading category of prescriptions). This is the second visit with Dr. Brauner, and I cannot imagine a more confidence inspiring doctor, careful listener and thorough clinician. Her surprise at the positivity of my test results was not only communicated, but a also real psychological boost with regards to my concerns about aging eye health issues. Instead of treating my questions as "off the grid" or a bit on the OCD spectrum, she interpreted them as my having an active interest in how to optimize my vision at this point (I have a great disparity in uncorrected vision focal lengths, as well as some other issues). She took absolutely no offense that I had discovered that I have better distance vision in one eye with the astigmatism correction removed (I ordered my own prescription for distance glasses myself, removing the astigmatism correction, as final proof of that as well as a new, improved distance glasses prescription). She had been concerned enough about the possible need for cataract surgery (now not needed due to the most recent testing), that she had me return for a second visit in six months after my initial visit with her. Her level of concern, while potentially worrying as a patient, also allowed me to feel that my condition was not being swept under the rug, or treated as if it was okay to go another year before the next appointment. And the fact that the extremely thorough testing that she ordered for this visit (far beyond any testing that I had done in the past) allowed me, not only to not worry for an entire year, but in this case to go home knowing that, in fact, I did not need cataract surgery, and had passed all of her tests, and with correction was able to reach 20/20 vision in both eyes; this was a huge relief, and again, a positive psychological boost as well. One last, and sometimes most important aspect of her as a clinician is her "bedside manner" which is a terrific blend of being personable and professional at the same time, and clearly interested in her patients as people and not just another pair of eyes to test and potentially do surgery on or diagnose and prescribe other applicable treatments. I can't recommend her highly enough, and hopefully will be able to continue seeing her (no pun intended) for a very long time.

Dr. Stacey Bruner, in my opinion, is a competent physician, ophthalmologist. She removed cataracts from my eyes, both right and left, and gave me the best follow-up care that I could think possible. And still, I see her once a year for an eye examination and an eye checkup. And we see medication drops from my right eye, completely satisfied.
