Dr. Sherleen Chen is exceptional. Both my wife and I have been treated by Dr. Chen for a number of years and we both had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Chen. Although we could be treated locally and have an eighty-mile round trip to Mass Eye & Ear, we would not consider changing physicians.

Dr Chen was a credit to her profession. I am certain my eyes are in good care.

Everyone I saw at my appointment from the receptionists to the optometrist, the tech, the resident Dr [redacted], and Dr Chen treated me with respect and compassion. The exam was the most thorough eye exam I've ever had. I have signed up to be a regular patient of Dr Chen (I came in for a second opinion), and so has my husband.

Her staff is excellent However, I have a real beef with the MEEI- the fact that you closed the optical shop is inexcusable for a world class eye hospital not to have an optical shop. Commercial optical shops cannot and I repeat cannot provide the expertise for complex eye glass prescriptions that the MEEI optical shop. This is a real problem

Given that I have a new diagnosis, I would have appreciated being given more information about it and given tips on how I can contribute to slowing the progression of the disease. I needed more information about the test that I "failed" and what that failure meant. It is difficult for me to hear that I have this diagnosis of glaucoma and difficult for me to think about what the implications are. I don't know what "stage" we are in or the usual speed of progression. Rather than waiting for me to ask I questions, I needed the provider to be more proactive in giving me information.

I've been seeing Dr. Sherleen Chen for many years and have referred her to my family and friends. I think she is absolutely the best in her field. I respect her opinion and can't say enough good things about her.
