Dr. Barry came into the examining room with a smile on her face and a lot of energy. She asked a number of questions about my physical condition. She listened carefully to my answers. She explained that the testing showed that I did not have the flu or Covid. She conducted a thorough examination. She explained that I seemed to be getting better. She added that I should call her if I did not see progress within 48 hours. I felt reassured when my visit concluded.

Caring

I feel like the appointment was nice but somewhat cursory. The doctor asked me some questions and then did not do a couple of exams that I thought she might - rather than just take my word for it. Since I am a bit "older now" I have found my physicals to be cursory - but maybe that's the way they are supposed to be - I don't really know. I also found some of the questions odd because I exercise regularly, do yoga and martial arts, lift weights, ride a bicycle. I'm not sure why I'm being asked if I am concerned about my hearing or if I think I am a fall risk.

Dr Barry provided care for an elderly patient and was exceptional in her compassion and efforts to help her. She is the best kind of physician - genuinely concerned, a good listener, excellent diagnostician , and a great resource.
