After finishing college, medical school and graduate school at Harvard Medical School, I graduated with an MD-PhD in 2000. I completed my training in internal medicine, cardiovascular sciences and clinical electrophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, where I am was on staff from 2007-2011. I was then at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center as the Co-director of the Cardiovascular Genetics Center and ran an active research program on RNA biomarkers for heart failure and arrhythmias.
I was recruited back to MGH and am the co-director of the Resynchronization and Advanced Cardiac Therapeutics Program. I am seeing general cardiac arrhythmia patients, with a special emphasis on patients with inherited arrhythmias, cardiomyopathies and sudden cardiac death.
My research focuses on understanding mechanisms of arrhythmias in heart failure, discovering new tests to provide better identification of patients at risk of developing heart failure or arrhythmias, and uncovering new therapies to treat heart failure. I see patients with a range of cardiac arrhythmia problems, including heart failure, supraventricular arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death.

The doctor didn't seem fully knowledgeable about my situation. Makes you feel like a number and not a patient.

So he printed out some things for me to read about my upcoming operation rather than telling me to Google it or whatever. And he even had to go out of the room to get the papers because the in-room printer was a little stuck. So he didn't hesitate to get me everything I needed. And he immediately got me appointments or worked towards getting me appointments for the follow-up stuff. So everything went well. Thank you.

My provider was very patient as we were explaining my very unique situation. He shed a lot of light and explained the uncertainties of medicine and what was happening years ago compared to what's happening now. He was explaining things in a way that was very easy for me to understand. I thought he was a great provider and I would definitely recommend him.

The provider was excellent. There was an administrative coordination problem so that I was brought into the room and somehow was not communicated to the provider and ended up waiting, I think, an hour and a half. So, there might be a logistics problem that can be fixed. It could be that it just was coincidence. Anyhow, it was a great experience otherwise. Thank you.
