Dr. Finkelstein is the best! She is proffessional, extremely knowlegeable and friendly. Most importantly, she provides me with individual care - fully knowing about me. She is extremely responsive and great!

I feel like she really glossed over my symptoms. She just treated me like a blank face or a number. She was a second opinion from a different provider and I don't think she looked beyond his opinion to form her own.

I felt more positive about my present state after my appointment.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my incredible experience visiting Dr. Sara Finkelstein for an FND evaluation and to describe the exceptional care she provided during my appointment. From the moment I met, Dr. Finkelstein was professional, attentive, and deeply knowledgeable-while also being genuinely compassionate and respectful. She created a calm, safe environment where I felt heard and taken seriously, which matters enormously when neurological symptoms are complex and have persisted for years. For over five years, I have been searching for clear answers and a coherent plan. Dr. Finkelstein approached my history with a rare combination of rigor and humanity. She asked precise questions, listened carefully to the details, and connected the information in a way that finally made sense. Because of her thoughtful evaluation, I received the right diagnosis-something I had been trying to obtain for a long time-along with a clear explanation that was both medically sound and understandable. Equally important, Dr. Finkelstein did not stop at naming the condition; she outlined a multidisciplinary care approach tailored to my needs. She emphasized practical next steps and coordinated, whole-person treatment-integrating the right specialties and therapies rather than offering a one-dimensional solution. I strongly believe that the combination of her diagnostic clarity and an actionable, team-based plan will be truly life-changing for me. Dr. Finkelstein represents what medicine should look like at its best: evidence-based, thorough, collaborative, and compassionate. I am deeply grateful for her care and would recommend her without hesitation to any FND patient, FND program, or NIH institution for excellence seeking an outstanding clinician and a future recognized leader. Sincerely, [redacted]

I am aware FND is hard but telling me to do the same thing over and over over again with no progress is not treatment
- Reviewed on 9/24/2025
Dr. Finkelstein understands that I present a complicated case (gait disorder of unknown origin) and that I have been referred from one doctor to the next. She volunteered to oversee this complicated medical picture, handling communication among the numerous doctors in an attempt to pin down the best course of care. This degree of empathy and responsibility is extremely unusual and I am very grateful to be in her hands.
