Dr. Hawes [redacted] listens, does not constantly try to complete my sentences when I am talking to him, and does not shoo me out of his office. I think we can work together, hooray!

Since it was a yearly check up, Doctor didn't check me at all like previous times. He didn't listen to what I had to say. I've had concerns and questions to ask, he didn't gave me opportunity to do that. He just told me that I have to do some blood work and that's it. And at the end, he just turn back and left. Didn't even say goodbye, or that he is leaving.

From the front desk, my initial consult with the nurse who accompanied me to the exam room and then, with Dr. Hawes, my visit was excellent. Dr. Hawes is always generous with his time, not stopping at a specified number of minutes, but, after all points of discussion were covered. I am so pleased with my experience over the last several years with the family practice department.

It is disheartening as a patient to see a doctor who does not demonstrate basic human courtesy to me, his patient. As every time in the past, Dr Hawes enters the room, does not greet me or look in my direction, nor does he say my name or inquire about my well-being. He is interested primarily in his computer and begins reading content to me, asking (without looking at me!) if I can confirm what it says. Most of the visit consists of him reading what is in the computer to me. Finally I was relieved he did refer me for PT which I requested. He agreed I might have a [redacted] but did not say how it might be attended to At the conclusion he let me know our time was over while staring in his computer. [redacted]

Dr. Hawes is careful and knowledgeable and polite and he listens and I couldn't recommend anybody more highly.

  • Reviewed on 6/17/2025

He was too occupied with ending the session. He was 17 minutes late and after only a 10 minute session, he opened the door and started to leave. I had more questions so he did stay but did not shut the door again. I waited 19 months to get a primary doctor at MVH. This was my first meeting with him. I was astounded at his impersonal and condescending attitude. [redacted]

I was pleased that having met me for the first time, Dr. Hawes understood how improtant it was for me to have an antibiotic as soon as possible for my bronchitis. I'm in my forth day, and fortunately it's not getting worse and hopefully things will begin to improve. Dr. Hawes respected that I know my health history extremely well and how imprtant it was for me to have an antibiotic. I'm happy he was available to see me since my PCP Dr. [redacted] wasn't available
