Dr. Pineda is very impressive. He is extremely knowledgeable and explained what's been going on with my eyes. Initially, I thought I may need a cornea transplant or topography guided PRK but after speaking with Dr. Pineda he recommended a superficial keratectomy. I found him very easy to talk to and he welcomed all of my questions. I would highly recommend him to family and friends.

Dr Pineda is the absolute best! He is a world renowned specialist in corneal disease and surgical technique and I am very honored to have been accepted as a patient, knowing that there are many other well qualified ophthalmologists at MEEI. I have grown to manage my expectations about appointments, however. Because he so highly regarded, his schedule often gets interrupted by emergency consults, or other diversions with Fellows or patient issues. No matter how far behind his day has gone, as far as seeing his patients, he never has spent less time with me, or tried to rush our appointment in order to see the next patient. He is a very caring and personable physician but he is run ragged by the MGBH and MEEI systems. It was a pleasure this last visit to see Dr Pineda running pretty much on schedule. I think part of this is that he has a new assistant managing his day and schedule much better, but also running interference for him. I know having this level of support will help Dr Pineda in ways that can't be put into words. Although he never has complained and never spends less time that needed with patients, I'm pretty sure he feels the same.

I was due to have a brain MRI at MGH in Danvers two days after my visit at MEEI. I was NEVER told that I was unable to have this done due to my artificial implant surgery at the end of February!

I am a new patient and wasn't sure whether I would be treated as a new patient or as a patient in general. What I mean is was he simply going to look at my chart say see you in a year or was he actually going to attend to my medical issue; to my delight, he was extremely attentive, very thorough and definitely wanted to help me.

I was very pleased with my experience from MEE. Everyone was pleasant and respectful. It was a long visit due to many tests taken, but I left very pleased and look forward to my upcoming surgical procedures with Dr. Pineda. I am so grateful to have been able to become one of his patients.

My doctor is world class, however, he is so overbooked it is insane. He has patients scheduled like every ten minutes. We all have pretty serious eye issues or we wouldn't be seeing him in the first place. The minimum wait to see him is 2 1/2 hours. It is ridiculous. Something needs to be done to better manage his case load. Important questions go unanswered because he is probably too busy to check it. No one has time to make an appointment an entire day. I work 70 hours a week. My time is just as valuable as anyone else's.

Dr Pineda is a world leader and expert in cornea care and research. Nonetheless he is unpretentious, kind, and generous and is genuinely concerned about each patient. We should clone him if we could, or get other caretakers to behave as he does. But, at the very least, we are blessed to have him at MEEI.
