Dr. Horan is professional and uses great care in my office visits with him.

Dr. Rick Horan has been a TREASURE as my allergist/immunologist and dermatologist for more than 30 years. He has an exceptional fund of knowledge, an encyclopedia knowledge of all aspects of internal medicine, and is always aware of the latest scientific discoveries and his areas of specialty. This is combined with a man who shows genuine empathy and compassion toward his patients. Today was a prime example: [redacted] I was admitted to the BWH surgical intensive care unit after an accidental fall caused me to have nine fractures of my right posterior ribs and scapula. It has been very painful and difficult for me to move, get in and out of my car, and walk into and out of my medical appointments. As a result, I was more than two hours late for my appointment with Dr. Horan. [redacted] After I was brought into examination room, I was embarrassed to find that I was unable to get out of my street clothing and into an exam gown without help. So, I had no choice but to wait for Dr. Horan to come in. He never hesitated. He helped me with removing my shirt and trousers, shoes, and even rolled down my socks for the examination. And at the conclusion, he took the time to help me put everything back on. That kind doctor even stoop down and tied my shoes for me. It almost brings tears to my eyes when I think of the genuine humility and willingness to serve other people exemplified by Dr. Richard Horan. He should be a role model for every doctor at Mass. General Brigham.
