My experience with Dr Patel and everyone in his practice has been exceptional. The surgical support team in the Longwood facility were, for lack of a better word, AMAZING! I can honestly say the entire team took a stressful situation and made me feel safe and extremely well cared for.

Dr. Patel was my surgeon for the tractomy, vacular whole surgery, and he did an excellent job, and I'm very happy with the results. My only comment that I would like to improve would be the amount of time that he spends with me and his explanations. I feel like maybe he sees so many people that he doesn't have much time and he doesn't really want to take the time to explain. It's always generally bare minimum. Dr. is not an approachable person, does not want to connect with his patients. Difficult to talk to.

Dr Patel and his staff are always knowledgeable, current in their field and focused on my medical needs. I purposely drive two hours to come to see Dr. Patel and to be a patient at Mass Eye and Ear.

Extremely efficient went from one test to another to another and a very timely fashion

This provider spent less than 10 minutes explaining things, listening to me, and did not even examine my daughter. Other providers, technicians, did tests on my daughter. She looked at the test, ruled out there being any medical issues with her, and again, did not even look at her eyes at all. [redacted] It was a big shock and disappointment.

One of the best and coordinated care

There were several students in my exam with him. It would have been professional and appropriate of him to ask for my permission before allowing them into my exam.

I came for an appointment, have to travel, get transportation, provided by my daughter, and the provider did not look at my eyes at all. The fellow, who was very nice, looked at my eyes, and I'm scheduled for surgery on [redacted], and it just kind of blew my mind, went that whole way. Yes, I did have a B-scan, I don't know. I'm just a little disappointed.

He was very businesslike; very brief interaction with me, more focused with his Students who accompanied him in office visits

I felt like a number. I spoke to the provider for about 5 minutes. It was a visit to follow up on my condition. I brought up one medical issue that I wanted feedback/help with. He heard my concern but did not address it at all. [redacted]. The provider also brought in three other students without warning or asking. I would have been okay with it, but was unhappy that he did not respect me by asking.

Had a wonderful visit like I usually do except waiting for someone to call me back from his office because I don't know what medication's to take a call three times and no one has called me back

I would recommend the Dr. ASK the patient if they are okay with having extra doctors/residents/interns etc present? It was assumed that I was okay with their presence without me actually giving my consent. The expectation was that I would be comfortable with this, yet, I'm sure there are patients who are not comfortable with so many people observing their examination.
