Better time management

I saw Dr. Chen and another doctor and I couldn't be more pleased. They listened to what I have been experiencing and it's been a very difficult year for me and my house burnt down. I'm in an irrevocable truss. I don't have a house anymore and my daughter died of cancer. I lost all her pictures in the fire and I got hit on a crosswalk by a car and I got PT, which was wonderful at Mass General in Waltham. And I couldn't be more pleased with Dr. Chen and the other doctor. And I'm going to be following up because he's going to have me get nerve tests, which I'm still in a lot of pain. And I couldn't ask for better, really. I'm just so impressed.

Its always great walking into the office with happy faces.

Dr. Chen took his time to explain the procedure that I will be having, including what to expect during and after the procedure. While no one ever really wants to have surgery, he has made me feel at ease and hopeful for a complete recovery with regaining use of my hand after trigger finger and carpal tunnel surgery.

There was some confusion as to whether or not an x-ray of my elbow was needed, and whether or not an MRI taken at Lahey could be read in my shared Epic chart (it could), but this was quickly straightened out.

My visits with Dr. Chen are always very informative, helpful, and so appreciated to get his knowledge and know that he cares about me and is following this journey of my risk key-in-box disease with me. And I know that if I need him, I can get in touch with him. I consider myself very lucky to be his patient. would refer him to other people always.

[redacted] Dr. Chen spent 5 minutes lecturing me on the absolute basics of the fracture that I can read in any medical intro textbook myseld and had. I do not know if he even looked at my scans, and I failed to get a nuanced discussion for how treatment may look from here if I wanted to avoid very prolonged immobilization. Instead, he shrugged off my concerns around months of an immobilized wrist and at no point was there a nuanced discussion of what my questions were or trade offs of prolonged immobilization versus surgery depending on the type of activities I want to get back to. Yes, I had a great experience with Dr. Neal C Chen. He was a very nice man. He listened to me and he understood my needs and he took it one step further. And not only did I get an MRI, but now I'm getting a CAT scan on my wrist. So he takes this very serious and he's trying to do the best for his patient, which would be me. And I really appreciate that. And my wife was there, too, and she spoke very highly of Dr. Chen. My wife is a nurse, so it meant a lot to us, and we're looking forward to seeing him again in the near future. Thank you.

He supported the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome, but did not wish to have supporting studies done because of my age and because limited symptoms would not lead to surgical correction at this time.

This was a follow up appt after a couple of years. I had a positive experience with the two doctors I spoke with during this visit and they listened to my concerns and gave me some options and their input on the potential outcomes.

Unfortunately there was a 30 min delay, and I was kept in the exam room without anybody lettimg.me know the office was running late - first appointment in the afternoon. I was told patients were seen in the order they arrived. I came at 12:45 for 1 pm was seen at 1:30 then had to rush to get to work on time.
