I think experience was somewhat good but I was waiting in the room for 20-30 minutes before someone realized i was never given my heart monitor. and it just felt very rushed while i was talking to my provider and i didn't feel like i got to say everything i wanted to because it was rushed off or talked through.

This provider dismissed me, cut me off mid sentence, did not believe my own reporting about my behavior, and judged me based on my appearance. She has made comments about my weight and how many steps I get in in the past (even when I was experiencing significantly disabling injuries and paralysis). I have been working to increase my mobility and shared at my appointment two years ago that I was proud of myself for waking over 10,000 steps during a vacation to another climate. During this visit, she immediately asked how many steps I got in, and when I answered on a good day (I have a dynamic disability), I can manage between 6-10k steps but it causes me pain, she cut me off and said "Well my staff tell me you can do 10,000 steps on vacation, so I guess you can walk when you want to, huh?" I tried to explain about my disability and chronic illness but she didn't listen. At the end of the appointment, she felt my legs and said I was wearing compression socks so it didn't matter. I said no, I'm not because they inhibit my muscles from engaging fully. She said, "Oh, well I saw your stiff neck and I figured you never walked! Well then you're a rockstar, you're my hero," implying that she didn't believe my reporting on my own mobility (which we have discussed over years), and judged my activity level based my neck appearance. My neck is stiff because I have an occipital bone to C2 upper cervical spine fusion and have limited range of motion. She has known this for 9 years. [redacted]

This was my first visit with Dr. Gracin; she was pleasant and conducted a thorough examination and reassuring of a health plan now and future.

Dr Gracin was absolutely the medical professional I needed!!! Although I was required to travel more than I would ordinarily for an appointment. After meeting her, I would do it all again. We'll worth the hours spent in rush hour traffic.

I wish she would stop blaming everything on my POTs diagnosis. Not everything is due to pots. Chest pain can be more than just pots. I wanted a greater work up done and she refused and blamed it on pots now I have a bigger issue going on

I have known Dr. Gracin and the office for approximately 7 years; however, I have not been seen in 3 years. She treats my cardiac status with regard to Autonomic Disease. First...your questions seem designed to preclude real feedback. For instance, I was not seen by a nurse, only a med tech, and although they were very nice we did not discuss anything of substance. And I have no idea how they communicated with my physician. Second...I want to note that I have great respect for my cardiologist, Dr. Nancy Gracin, who has always been pleasant, communicated clearly, and has listened patiently to any concerns I might express. On this visit she seemed rushed and a little stressed. That is unfortunate, because I had a lot of questions, and I wasn't completely satisfied with the encounter. However, I suspect it was mostly due to Dr. Gracin having a packed schedule. I am a retired physician, and I just bristle at these follow-up surveys. They seem designed for nothing other than marketing and do not provide any real insight. Why do you even bother?

She changed my appointment from in person to virtual because she was going to be out of the office. When it came time for my appointment, she was over 30 minutes late. She then came on, very frantic and rushed, and reviewed the notes in my file. She did not give me a chance to speak and when I tried to voice concerns to her she cut me off and said "you are on the right path" even though my symptoms have been getting worse. She took another phone call in the middle of my appointment and then just hung up on me without giving me a chance to express any more of my concerns. After being 30 minutes late and clearly trying to make up for lost time, she finished my appointment in 10 minutes, which included reviewing notes for the first 5 or 6 minutes and taking a phone call. I got absolutely no benefit from the appointment. [redacted]

I had a very positive experience overall with Dr. Gracin last week. She conducted the appointment in a very professional manner. She listened to my concerns. She offered medication options for me for my high blood pressure, and she allowed me to choose the option I thought would be best for me. If it turns out I did not choose the right option, I will contact her office for a medication/treatment alternative, and I have every confidence she will suggest another medicine that would be just as effective for me to take.

Having recently been diagnoses with lymphoma cancer I'm not sure if I'll die from heart issues or cancer issues but if I was a betting man I'd bet cancer. However, I'm much more confident in Dr. Gracin overlooking my life than any other Dr. I've seen in my lifetime . She is so thorough, in probing into my overall health issues I often forget she is my "cardiologist ". MGH is blessed with many outstanding doctor's , nurses, PA's and techs but Dr. Gracin clearly stand out as the leader in her field. If she has one fault it could be a little time management as often a little late getting into the exam room. Yet, If I had to wait for an hour I would do so as I know once she enters the room I have her undivided attention for HOWEVER long my exam and conversations may take. She is a true committed professional and you should be very honored to have her on your staff.
