Mitchell S. Rein, MD, is a member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) at Mass General where he practices infertility and assisted reproductive technologies and gynecology as a part of the Mass General/North Shore OBGYN practice. He is an Associate Professor in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School and has published extensively on the topics of uterine fibroids, infertility and quality improvement. Dr. Rein served as the Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs at Salem Hospital from 2004 to 2023 and as the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 1997 – 2006.
Dr. Rein is a fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology. He is also a member of the American Society of Reproductive Technologies, the American College of Physician Executives, the Obstetrical Society of Boston, the New England Obstetrical Society and the Mass Medical Society.
Dr. Rein received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. He completed a residency specializing in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
