Dr McDonald came highly recommended from my oncologist at [redacted] to help with an incontinence issue related to a prostectomy. He focused 100% on finding medications to help my issue. We went through a few and settled on two I am currently taking. They have had a positive effect on one of three issues. [redacted]

From the second this doctor entered the room, he seemed agitated and bothered. He asked what brought me in and I told him my PCP referred me because I was getting to that age. From the very start, he stated I was too young to have problems. He didn't ask any questions and at first I didn't even think he was going to do an exam. I'm having serious problems in this area and he didn't ask any questions and I didn't know what to do. So I didn't address anything. I left the office feeling ashamed of myself [redacted] - I felt so dismissed! At the end he said, "That should make your doctor happy". I had very real concerns that he seemed uninterested in helping me with or getting any kind of history. I also asked for a Testosterone test and he didn't ask why but told me (right off the bat) that he doesn't usually doesn't like to alter hormones at this time. I was not there for hormone treatment. I had none then do I have any desire to even take a testosterone supplement. Had he asked why I wanted the test I would've to him . He never did. I sat in that office confused. It was terrible. I've never left a doctor's appointment having that experience. Like, was I bothering him? Was he having a bad day? Why did he treat me so badly?

I am most fortunate to have been under Dr. McDonald's care for about 13 years--care that includes several surgical bladder resections and quarterly cystoscopies. I felt rushed during the appointment. I didn't think the provider took my concerns seriously. I think because of my " young" age and MS diagnosis he probably assumed my symptoms are all related to Ms. I was only offered 1 treatment option. I wasn't given possible reasons to my symptoms. I feel like he assumed everything was related to my MS. I feel like I self diagnosed myself at home and I didn't learn anything new from this provider.

I drive106 miles round trip to see Dr.McDonald. There is a reason for this. He is an excellent physician with a caring attitude and does an outstanding job of ensuring I understand all aspects of, both, diagnosis and treatment options. I am very fortunate to be under his care.

This was my initial visit to Brigham Health at Patriots Place and the Urology Department. I was there to get information about obtaining a second opinion after I have a Prostate Biopsy at Saint Anne's Hospital Surgery Center at Hawthorne Medical Center in Dartmouth MA. I had brought along information, findings and Conclusions from an MRI I had taken in June at Sheilds MRI Dartmouth. I also had a CD with my prostate images for this visit. There was a high level of concern from all this information that resulted in the Prostate Biopsy I had earlier today, I will get my results from that in 7 to 10 days. As all his information was coming in I was advised to be prepared and try to find a second opinion on my options after my results,so I was at 20 Patriots Place MGH for a medical appointment for my wife. I was in the lobby saw the Urology sign and went in and got an appointment with Dr. McDonald. This was my first visit with Dr M. McDonald he was terrific & Listened to complex history gave outstanding ideas and options while I wait for Biopsy results. He could not have been better on a first complex visit. Staff was great, thanks to all. Ten+

He came into the office having reviewed my chart so as to let me know he was familiar with my medical history and with a plan for the appointment.
