Dr. Michael Hyosang Cho is a physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). He is also an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School.
He received his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He then completed a residency in internal medicine and a chief residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in pulmonary disease at the Harvard Combined Program. He is board certified in critical care medicine, internal medicine and pulmonary disease.
Dr. Cho’s clinical research investigates the role of genetics and other omics in the susceptibility and heterogeneity of chronic lung disease. He has led or co-led large-scale genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and sequencing studies in COPD, interstitial lung abnormalities, and related phenotypes; the development of polygenic risk scores in COPD and IPF; and functional and integrative omics studies of COPD risk loci. Dr. Cho has authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications and has received funding from the National Institutes of Health.
