As a surgical pathologist, I examine tissue samples to help determine the nature and cause of a patient’s disease. I integrate what I see under the microscope with information from clinical evaluations, procedures, imaging studies, and laboratory tests to provide the clearest and most accurate diagnosis possible. Although pathologists often work behind the scenes, our findings are essential to helping patients and their care teams understand the condition, consider treatment options, and plan next steps. I value close collaboration with clinicians and approach each case with care, precision, and a commitment to the individual patient.
My research focuses on inflammatory conditions and cancer affecting the gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, bile ducts, and liver. My goal is to improve how these diseases are diagnosed and how treatments are selected for each patient. I am also interested in understanding the earliest changes that lead to cancer, with the hope of supporting earlier detection—and, ultimately, prevention.
