Dr. Melissa Putman is part of the extraordinary care team that I have at MGB. She is friendly and open. She takes the time and listens and is encouraging with all the steps that I need to take to manage and even improve my health condition. I would recommend her whole heartedly to anyone requiring care within her specialty.

Dr. Putman is very thorough in her appointments with me. She addresses my endocrinology needs as well as keeping in mind my other health needs to make sure the treatment outcome is appropriate. She is also great at explaining things if I am not understanding a certain aspect until I do understand. If I ever have questions or needs I reach out to her office and always get a response in a reasonable time. Dr. Putman and her approach to my needs makes me feel empowered of my CFRD.

I've been seeing Dr. Putman for 10 years. One of the luckiest things to happen to me was being referred to her [redacted] Every time I see her she knows what's going on with my entire health situation [redacted]. She cares so deeply about her patients, she actually familiarizer herself with (my) entire health history. The first thing Dr. Putman does, after giving me her signature warm greeting, is to ask me how things are going with XYZ health issues I'm living with. [redacted] Because she knows all of what's going on with my health, Dr. Putman has been able to intervene in several ways regarding my health. One example: It was Dr. Putman who suggested I see a functional medicine doctor for back pain I was having that is unrelated to my osteoporosis. I took her sage advice, saw a wonderful functional medicine doctor who prescribed specialized PT and I am now pain free. [redacted] That's just one example of how amazing she is. One very important thing is that Dr. Putman is a phenomenal educator. Information that she has process rather quickly after my DEXA scans, and then presents to me a plan of care, is like poetry in motion. She explains complicated things to me in a way that I can understand and I never feel dumb or obtuse when talking with Dr. Putman. This last time I saw her, we've had to make a big change in my care -- one that was initially scary for me. But with Dr. Putman's clear, concise, and supportive explanations, I'm now fully on board. She explained the different options to me, along with possible side effects of the medications. As a person -- I don't know Dr. Putman personally -- she's so kind and caring and nonjudgmental. Factoring in her absolute brilliance as a clinician, along with her extraordinary personality, I've come to trust her and her clinical judgment absolutely and completely. I can't imagine that there's a better all-round doctor in Boston than Dr. Putman (putting aside her specialty -- she's an absolutely phenomenal general clinician.) She's got it all [redacted]
