About Maureen Ann Malin

Maureen A. Malin, MD, PhD, MBA, EdD, is a gifted and compassionate physician, providing emotional support, education, and clinical skill to medically complex patients with neurodegenerative diseases and their families. Previously the medical director of the McLean’s Cognitive Neuropsychiatry Program, under her leadership, the unit developed a holistic and palliative approach to neurodegenerative illnesses that are progressive and ultimately terminal. This approach enables patients and caregivers to deal better with the emotional, psychosocial, legal, and financial challenges they encounter.

Dr. Malin is actively involved in extending hospice and palliative care to the needs of patients with dementia and their caregivers. She continually explores ways to facilitate emotional support, clinical treatment, and education to caregivers, patients and other clinicians. Her goal is to provide timely palliative care throughout the illness and hospice services in a timely manner at end of life.
