I thought that the interview with the doctor was the best one I have ever had with a doctor. He gave me time, he knew what was going on, he looked out for me carefully, I was very, very pleased.

Nothing against Dr. Russell because I'm quite happy with him, but the system isn't terrific because you don't actually see the doctor. You don't have your blood pressure taken. You don't have any kind of vitals done. And so you can talk, but that's not quite as thorough and complete as an actual physical contact with the doctor.

I thought it was excellent. We covered a lot of subjects and I was given plenty of time to do it. We had about an hour and a half.

Dr. Russell and indeed, MGH Geriatric Medicine, are terrific. I'm very satisfied with the quality of care I receive there

Dr. Russell demonstrated exactly why I'm so happy with both he and MGH. He's a careful listener. He's reviewed my files. He knows, he's having a very cogent conversation with me about my medications, about my lifestyle, and had suggestions that have since proven to be excellent. I have had several primary doctors in my life and Dr. Matthew Russell by far is the very best primary doctor I have ever had. He is wonderful. He takes time to explain things to you. He never is hurried and he always shows a great amount of concern. He understands everything about every single operation, procedure, and all of the medications I've taken and provides me with the very best care and advice I could ask for. In addition, all of his nurses and the people at the reception are incredibly helpful, incredibly courteous, and very friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend ?

Dr Russell was very thorough in my exam

Dr. Russell is pro-active in looking at my medications and trying to pare down medications which could impact me negatively as I get older.

Dr. Russell sensed a necessary urgency for my situation and went above and beyond to get me into the office immediately. I arrived a little early and the staff got me ready for the assessment. Dr. Russell took my concerns seriously and gave name to the negative experiences I faced as an inpatient at MGH. He called them "preventable traumas." In addition he promised to contact patient relations on my behalf and to speak to the surgeon for me.

He is knowledgeable but too busy

Dr. Russell is a consummate physician with exceptional listening skills. He performed a full physical exam including listening to carotids, heart and lungs. This is rare in the new era of computerized medicine. He interacted with me as opposed to the computer. I am blessed to have him as my physician.

An excellent provider, careful, thorough, and warm and friendly.

We are grateful to have Dr Russell as our PCP he is compassionate, helpful, knowledgeable, responds in a timely manner and goes out of his way to help.

This practice sets the gold standard for geriatric care. My husband (Parkinsons/Lewy Body) and my mom (cancer) also used this practice. Though I am healthy now, I am confident that the professionals (especially Dr Russell) will help me try to stay that way and to navigate whatever the future brings.
