Mabel Toribio MD (she/her) is a clinical investigator within the Massachusetts General Hospital Metabolism Unit. Dr. Toribio's clinical interests include neuroendocrine disorders and pituitary tumors, lipid and metabolism disorders, and gender-affirming hormone therapy. As the Director of Transgender Health Research within the Metabolism Unit, Dr. Toribio leads clinical and survey research aimed at optimizing the health of gender-diverse populations.
Dr. Toribio received her undergraduate degree in Biology summa cum laude from Duke University. She later completed medical school at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. This was followed by Internal Medicine residency training at the University of California, San Francisco and Endocrinology fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital.

I was a bit taken aback that she hadn't reviewed my MRI prior to our mtg. She uses a lot of medical terminology that is difficult for me to understand. She goes down rabbit holes with medical explanations and I have to summarize the takeaways. However, overall she is an excellent doctor, smart, and attentive.

Doctor Toribio is familiar with my various health issues and helps me figure out how to optimize my health. Over the past few years, she's been great at helping me adjust on and off medication as well as letting me know why she orders certain tests and what their results mean. Her team has been pleasant and proactive with scheduling and any health concerns I have had.
