Dr. Lisa Zhang is a pathologist at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School. She specializes in cytopathology and gastrointestinal pathology. She has particular expertise in pancreatic and biliary diseases and in evaluating minimally invasive samples collected before surgery.
Dr. Zhang received her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and fellowships in Cytopathology and Gastrointestinal Pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is the Program Director of the Mass General Brigham Cytopathology Fellowship and serves on committees of the College of American Pathologists and the American Society of Cytopathology. She has co-authored the textbook "Atlas of Cytopathology: A Pattern-Based Approach" and contributed to the WHO Reporting System for Pancreatobiliary Cytopathology. Her research focuses on improving diagnosis and outcomes for patients with pancreatic tumors.
