In addition to my appointment with Dr. Shen i had a visual field test. The tech was very polite and did a great job explaining the test and what I needed to do. And after the visual field but before meeting with Dr. Shen a different Tech brought me to the exam room, was also polite and did a great job explaining what he was going to do. And then I met with Dr. Shen's fellow who had an excellent manner and very knowledgeable.

Sensitive, caring and compassionate since my husband passed away on [redacted] and understood the sorrow and stress that I and my family were experiencing. And yet, was also acting as a professional and my healthcare provider in meeting the medical issues concerning my eyes.

Focused, intelligent, caring.

Best visit to meei ever, due to short wait, seating while waiting, fast testing. MD is definitely expert in glaucoma - great. However she didn't really listen to my lifestyle needs re: which IOL to implant. Follow-up via portal she referred me to a different specialist for more personalized IOL selection.

I have absolute confidence in her. She is exceptional.

The doctor ALWAYS uses mask and always sanitizes her hands before the consultation. However, the assistants who does the preliminary check does not sanitizes their hands. Not sure if this is a requirement but it should be.

It would be helpful for the provider on the day of the procedure to again review the plan for the procedure and how the procedure works. This was not reviewed at the time of the initial scheduling of the procedure. Perhaps this was because this was a repeat procedure for me, but a refresher by way of information would have been helpful. I suspect if I had asked for this review, then it would have been provided. But this is a mere suggestion, not a specific critique.

Dr. Shen was very pleasant and thorough during the appointment. When checking on a consult she wanted me to have she made sure to tell me that if I had not received a phone call by the end of the following week to get in touch with her so she could facilitate it happening in a timely manner.

Dr. Shen has my complete confidence - she's at the top of her game. However, she seems to be rushing through my recent appointments and usually is joined by 2 or more other doctors and interns making for a crowded exam room.

I just moved to this practice - and immediately was diagnosed with an urgent situation requiring two surgeries in one week. She is extremely competent as well as empathetic.

She was on time, but seemed a little rushed once we started talking and I'm not sure if she went over all the information I had faxed to her from two different doctors offices, before the appointment. She instead looked more at the information I had brought. Also when she said at the beginning, you put one drop in your left eye, it kind of made me question if she had gone over my chart at all before she saw me?

Yes, I've had Dr. Shan as my glaucoma specialist for many, many years, and she is just the best I couldn't even hope for. So she's kept me healthy. I'm able to see. She's done all she can to help with that, and I don't know what I would do without her. I couldn't recommend her more.

This provider shows tht she has little time for me or for what I had to say. She refused to answer my questions under the pretext that we had another appointment coming. She also showed up with 2 other people whose roles I could not understand other than one was in some kind of training mode. I felt like a guinea pig. Not a good experience of feeling!!!

Dr. Shen has been my doctor for over 10 years. She stabilized my vision during a period the other doctors had more or less given up that my vision could be stabilized. Dr. Shen has always been thoughtful in her care approach, and hasn't hesitated to work with other specialists for my treatment plan.

Dr. Shen was able to familiarize herself with my history very quickly, as well as integrate my new testing into her evaluation for a plan of action. She was covering for my usual glauc doc.

EVEN THOUGH THE OFFICE WAS VERY BUSY THINGS MOVED ALONG VERY WELL FOR ME.
