Lindsay P Carter, MD

Lindsay Carter, MD, divides her time among clinical work as a Pediatric Hospitalist, undergraduate and graduate medical education, and process improvement centered around patient experience. She received an A.B. in English Language and Literature from Harvard College in 2000. She then completed a post-baccalaureate program at Harvard and did psychiatric research in mood and eating disorders at McLean Hospital prior to earning her M.D. from Harvard Medical School. Dr. Carter subsequently completed her pediatric residency and chief residency at Mass General for Children and joined the staff as a Pediatric Hospitalist and medical educator. Over the course of her career, she has served as Associate Clerkship Director in Pediatrics, Director of the Advanced Pediatric Clerkship, pediatric lead for the Practice of Medicine (POM) course at MGH and Warren House Director for the Principle Clinical Experience (PCE). Dr. Carter has won numerous student and resident teaching awards. In her previous roles as Inpatient Director for Quality and Safety and inpatient medical director, she brought "What Matters to You" to MGfC. With WMTY at the core, she has introduced several initiatives to foster more supportive and inclusive working environments and find unique ways to empower and engage with patients and families. For this work, she was a recipient of the Schwartz Center's National Compassionate Caregiver of the Year Award in 2022.
