Li-Li Hsiao, MD, PhD

Dr. Li-Li Hsiao is a physician at the Renal Division, Brigham and Women’s Hospital; an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School. She is the creator of a community outreach program called” Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program (KDSAP)”. She has been the Associate director of Harvard Summer Research Program in Kidney Medicine. Dr. Hsiao focuses her clinical practice in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and CKD-related cardiovascular complications.

Dr. Hsiao has received numerous awards for her outstanding clinical work, teaching and mentoring of students including the Starfish Award for commitment to excellence in patient care and teamwork; the Harvard Clifford Barger Young Mentor Award for her teaching abilities; the HMS Community Service Faculty Award in recognition of her community service through KDSAP. She was honored by National Kidney Foundation (NKF) as a Nephrologist who has made an impact in reducing health disparities. Dr. Hsiao was the inaugural editor-in-chief of ISN Academy and served in the Education Working Group.

Currently, she is the Chair of World Kidney Day Joint Steering Committee for ISN (International Society of nephrology) and IFKF-WKA (The International Federation of Kidney Foundation- World Kidney Alliance). She is also a member of ISN North American Board representing North America and Caribbean.
