Dr Helm explains situation, etc easy to talk to..... but after I left, I realized that she had not felt/ tested my thyroid noudules/cysts after she explained- that I did not need anymore ultrasound for my Thyroid. I feel, that this should have done. I forgot to ask her about doing this?

I wanted to share some feedback about my recent experience. During my appointment, the doctor made a comment in front of my son that felt harsh and deeply discouraging-stating that I had "ruined my body" through cigarette smoking. While I understand the medical seriousness of COPD and my history, I quit smoking over 20 years ago, well before I was diagnosed. I now work hard to stay healthy, including walking 40 minutes a day on the treadmill, and I remain committed to caring for my body and health. It was disheartening that this effort wasn't acknowledged, and instead, I was left feeling hopeless and ashamed. I believe the way this was communicated stepped over a line, especially in front of my family. I would have appreciated a more balanced, compassionate approach-one that acknowledged both the past and the progress I've made.
