I truly appreciated the thoroughness of going over all my past scans and giving me knowledge of concerns I always have over my moms cancer and he placed my mind at ease. Nobody has done that or let me see my chart to go over everything including my past 4 visits with all test results.

Dr. Shuman was very helpful, knowledgeable, and empathetic during my visit. He had jotted down notes pertaining to my condition before meeting me and was able to further explain the condition, medications, and aftercare. My husband was with me for our appointment and we both left feeling more confident and grateful.

I was very grateful that there was an opening on the morning I called as I was experiencing a lot of discomfort. I arrived on time but as often happens the provider was backed up BUT IT WAS OK as I was seen. My questions were answered and my issue was treated - I am very happy with this practice and recommend it to all my family and friends.

[redacted] Provides non-answers to my concerns. Felt rushed and like he was just trying to get to the next patient like an assembly line. None of my medical concerns felt like they were appropriately addressed, and that they were disregarded.

I think Dr. Shuman is very conscientious, very careful. He's been a great doctor to me. He's been very, very helpful the last probably almost 15 years since I've been with him. I feel totally confident everybody should be able to have a doctor like him.

Dr. Shuman spent the most time ever with me for my annual visit. I took 9 pages of notes and now understand what to do and eat differently. It was my best doctor's consultation going back a number of years.

Dr. Shuman takes alot of time to explain any issues I bring up and I appreciate that but he sometimes overexplains.

Every time I meet with Dr. Shuman he is very patient and explains everything in great detail for me, which I value. I feel heard and understood with any concerns I bring up. He also values my input for care planning and isn't the typical doctor that recommends pills to fix everything, which is a great thing. I will never see any other Doctor for my care.

I realize I need to write down what my appointment is about. I don't imagine that getting a timely appointment is going to improve anytime soon. But that's beyond the control of the provider. Otherwise, I love Durham Health. Very friendly people and good, informative care-giving.
