Dr. Sakmar's knowledge is remarkable.with me, there are so very many overlapping symptoms and many doctors might not notice this . A urine symptom, for example ,that does not fit in the usual infection, yeast, etc. problem and tests negative might be passed off as nothing, but with a list of "nothing symptoms " my word about myself....she instead there is something there......She sent me to a neurologist, and after many neurological tests, including nerve and skin biopsies, I was diagnosed with a rare disease that is degenerative....PAF. Pure autonomic failure! This is one of many, many times when she figured out some of my mystifying symptoms, that all are found when she orders the appropriate tests and are then sorted out and dealt with, extra hydration so I will not blackout, watching my B/P so I am aware .....my b/p easily goes to 60/30 or 74/55.....I really know that she is also a detective.....she will chase down elusive symptoms to get the correct diagnosis.

I am [redacted] years old and I have to tell you that Dr. Sakmar is one of the finest doctors I have ever encountered in my long medical journey. I've been very happy with her care, very happy. I consider her a fine doctor, but most importantly a compassionate, empathetic, intelligent, meticulous human being.

Normally she's very nice but for some reason she was mean rude and very short with me this time all I wanted to do was talk about my weight loss journey and she completely cut me off, dismissed what I had to say so she can talk about what she wanted to talk about. It didn't make me feel good as a patient in fact it ruined my whole day and put me in a very bad place mentally. There's nothing more defeating then having a plan to converse about something important to you and then be told your topics about your own body aren't important at the time being. It's important to me and the doctor should have took the time to listen to me. She came in an hour after I arrived on time and I felt like she wanted to rush and didn't want to actually listen to her patient. [redacted]
