About Jon M Harrison

Dr. Harrison is a Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic (HPB) surgeon who treats conditions affecting the liver, pancreas, and bile ducts. He graduated AOA from Jefferson Medical College and completed General Surgery Residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital. After residency, he completed a HPB Surgery Fellowship at Stanford, which included specialized training in minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic) surgery. His clinical practice focuses on liver, pancreas, bile duct, gallbladder, ampullary, and duodenal cancers as well as colorectal liver metastases, liver adenomas, liver cysts, acute necrotizing and chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic cysts, bile duct injuries, choledochal cysts, and benign biliary disease.

During residency, Dr. Harrison also completed a two-year research fellowship sponsored by the MGH Pancreas Biology Lab. His basic science interests center around the pancreatic tumor microenvironment and the transcriptomic subtyping of cancer-associated fibroblasts. Areas of clinical research include the management of pancreatitis and pancreatic cysts, techniques for treating advanced cases of pancreatic cancer, and video-based training in HPB Surgery.

He is active in the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (AHPBA) and Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT) and credentialed through the American Board of Surgery, AHPBA, Fellowship Council, and Intuitive Surgical.
