Thorough and informative

The doctor explained the lab test he ordered and gave me printout with all the information as well.

Dr. Nicasio is the first Dr. in 30 yrs that had listened and is actually doing tests to see what exactly is going on with my thyroid. He also brought up questions on why my pcp is not addressing some issues I mentioned to him! So happy I found him and patiently waited more than 5 months to see him!

He always listens and takes the time to explain everything to me. He even gets excited about my health progress. He is my favorite provider.

He did not care to listen to me. The provider spent most of his time dictating the visit.

He researched and calculated data to determined the best course of action. He provided me with printed instructions which I appreciate since I am [redacted] years and need explicit directions. The Dr. is stressful and difficult for me to talk to. He doesn't so much talk to me, he talks about me to his digital recorder. So far my appointments have felt really rushed, and I find it difficult to ask questions. He is polite, and I appreciate the care I have received. Unfortunately I would dread needing to have more complex conversations with him. As it is, my very simple medication needs haven't necessitated much and even that has been a bit off putting. Dr. Nicasio was very straight forward. It was obvious he had already looked at my chart and referral. He was easy to talk with, and sought to partner with me, not talk at me. The referral to a surgeon was prompt, ordered lab tests were explained thoroughly. He gave good instructions, and explained the medications available, which he was choosing for me and why. I left with 16 pages of printed informational material. There was nothing lacking in my experience with Dr. Nicasio.

Recently moved to MA from [redacted] so I was referred from PCP and a new patient. The Dr. was very good, to the point, understood my answers and when dictating to his device heard me and adjusted when I heard interpretation gaps. On the occasions I asked "what does that mean" he told me in a way I could understand. I was referred to CD Hosp for a minor procedure and we discussed what I should expect and was scheduled for followup in 4 months to review and determine next steps.

Because I just moved to Western Mass [redacted], this was my first visit with Dr. Nicasio. The staff was very helpful updating my medical history and prescription medications. Dr. Nicasio was attentive and knowledgeable regarding my condition. He was thorough with his explanations and provided written notes and instructions. I am very happy to have found him as I feel he is providing excellent testing and follow up care so far.

This is the first time meeting the Dr. The visit went well. He went through the tests he is recommending. I'm still getting used to the dictation devise that is used. It's not a bad thing just different for me but ok.

He treated me like I was disgusting because I smoked cigarettes, and to him, I stank. He started telling the nurse to leave the door open, and when the nurse came back, he said, "Because of this smell, now I'm going to have to open the window." I didn't like that because there are many patients there with different smells, and I worry that he treats them the way he treated me. Thank you very much.

Was an excellent appointment. Easy and relaxed

I was in the room waiting for 30 mins and was seen 20 mins. He stated " i have to go as i have a new patient ".. and i thought " what about me ?" .. he never asked me if i have other concerns that needed to be addressed.

He was very thorough, even palpated my neck (thyroid) and did some other physical tests and explained them. Its so rare that doctors give a decent physical exam, rather then just asking questions.

Dr. Nicasio is very comprehensive in asking questions. I felt I had time to update him and all my concerns about meds and also about a change in a med, which was very important. He listened carefully, took down my symptoms and changes, and re-prescribed the medicine. I went to the pharmacy the next day and everything was all in line. I really appreciate his care. He's very, very caring and concerned and answers all your questions. Thanks.

The Doctor is well equipped in his medical knowledge. I was well pleased in his experience and understanding of diagnosis of treatment and care. I would trust his opinions in understanding my own circumstances better. If I had any criticism, it would have to be that I felt his irritation with me regarding how long I, myself, took to see him for my follow up. It was mentioned to me several times. [redacted] The Doctor was wonderful, having seen him, but I would maybe encourage him to be a little more understanding and practice patience in regards to people's lives and abilities outside of his office. Overall, I believe you are quite fortunate to have him on staff.

I have had doctors before for my diabetes and they treat you like a number. This doctor actually listens when I say something. I'm very happy with him.

It is very reassuring to have Dr Nicasio annually reviewing any changes regarding my osteoporosis condition.

Dr nicasio treats me with respect, courtesy and explains step by step the things I shouldn't do to control my diabetes. We did however this time have a conflict over a new drug which I was unaware he was calling in so I was a little confused on that, but other than that I wouldn't go anywhere else but with him. I've followed him three times to where we are right now

The person who took my information in the beginning did not really enter the information into the system, so when the doctor came in for the actual appointment, he did not have my information available for reference.

I wish that Dr. Nicasio would pay a little closer attention when we're speaking. I feel like he's thinking of the answer, the rebuttal to my question or concern, but not really hearing what my question is. He misunderstood several things, and I'm pretty sure I was speaking carefully enough. It's not an uncommon problem, and he's an excellent doctor. I just wish he had better listening skills.

He did not seem familiar with my choice of a Medicare Advantage plan and questioned why I would have chosen that. He also mentioned several medications very rapidly. I am sure he is familiar with them, but I was not, and had to ask him to repeat the names more slowly.

Dr. Nicasio has been seeing me for about 6 years to tell me about test results and give me an injection of Prolia. At my last visit he neither looked at me or addressed me by name. Although I feel that I am being cared for satisfactorily Dr. Nicasio's "bedside manor" leaves a lot to be desired. He is neither friendly, compassionate nor warm. I would look for another endocrinologist if one were as close.

He is very familiar with my situation - constant stress generated by multiple family issues; insulin dispenser which dispenses too much insulin overnight; & trouble accessing adequate P/T for my broken hip. Also, problems with lack of quality control re my CGM. But other options are not available at this time that are affordable.

Dr. Nicasio is an excellent doctor. I enjoy going there and he understands my needs and what medicines I'm taking and won't take. And he does a thorough job of explaining everything to me. I would definitely recommend him.

Dr. Nicasio is always complete, thorough. He's got a friendly manner. He also knows my medications as was asked, but also wants to know verbally how it's working, that kind of thing, and the results that I've assigned. I'm doing really well.

Dr. John Nicasio was extremely nice. It was my first time there, and I'm been a little apprehensive with nodules on my thyroid. He listened, calmed my fears, and now I only have one biopsy, but very nice man, and I would highly recommend him.

My feedback for John Nicasio, I'd like to say I really like him. I see a lot of doctors and specialists, and he is definitely on my top five favorite. And one of the reasons why I appreciate him, because if he is unsure of a health concern of mine, he doesn't pretend to know the answer. And he'll help me and direct me, you know, to the right path I need to take. They're very fond of him.

Good doctor

It was obvious the provider had not reviewed the chart/referral notes before walking into the room. The provider focused almost exclusively on lab timings and values with almost no time spent on my primary complaint and/or the value of resolving it relative to lab values. The provider appeared to assume an extremely high level of knowledge on my part of endocrinology terminology -- the names and types of hormones and their interactions, their sources, their interactions, extrinsic and intrinsic factors that might affect their levels, and how those fluctuating levels might impact my symptoms. [redacted] I do very much appreciate that Dr. Nicasio is attempting to make sure I'm getting appropriate treatment, but I also came away feeling like "appropriate treatment" meant (only) that appropriate testing was done at appropriate intervals, and that any medications was administered and adjusted only on that basis, and not taking much account of my main complaints. Perhaps that's incorrect -- but it's the impression I was left with.

Was impressed with ability to extract the relevant parts of my history as well as his doing a good physical exam.

I was very disappointed to have to wait 45 minutes for this appointment. I had to miss an important phone call, which I would have taken if I had known how late he would be. And, it caused me to have to shuffle my plans for the rest of the afternoon. If I arrived 45 minutes late for an appointment I would need to lay and reschedule. I realize he was accommodating another patient who arrived late, but it was unreasonable to make me wait 45 minutes. Time management skills should be improved. It is extremely hard to schedule an endocrinologist appointment but it if this continues I will need to re evaluate, despite the fact that I like Dr. Nicasio very much as a doctor. In all other respects I recommend him highly.

My experience was a positive one. I had worked with him another time and we were preparing me to take a certain test and I was prepared. John Nicasio is the best endocrinologist my wife and I have seen in nearly 30 years of seeing them. Thorough, curious about seemingly anomolous test results. He's been the first to get her diabetes under control, and the first to identify the cause of my weird test results that other doctors have brushed off for years. Cling to that man. He's a rare gem.
