Dr. Jess Kaplan is an attending physician in the Department of Pediatrics and a Pediatric Gastroenterologist at Mass General for Children (MGfC). He completed both his residency in pediatrics (2008) and fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition (2011) at Mass General for Children. Dr. Kaplan's clinical interests include inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and other immune-mediated and general gastrointestinal disorders. He sees patients in the Pediatric IBD Program at MGH, MGH West and at Newton Wellesley Hospital. Dr. Kaplan serves as the clinical director of the Pediatric IBD Program and director of IBD Clinical trials at MGfC, where he conducts clinical and translational research and leads quality improvement initiatives. He has a strong interest in dietary management of IBD and is the clinical lead of the nutritional therapy in IBD program. Dr. Kaplan also leads the Pediatric fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) program at MGfC.

Dr Jess Kaplan was so personable, kind, and knowledgeable. My husband and I left with such a sense of comfort and ease after our appointment. Dr. Kaplan is what every doctor should be! I would recommend him to anyone and look forward to our follow up appointment.

Yes, the doctor was very professional, very friendly. I loved how he interacted with my child. Asking her questions, double checking with me, listening to me as mom, listening to her, very attentive, very patient, didn't feel rushed. I really, we really, really enjoy, not just me, but my daughter too. She even said that The doctor was very pleasant. She was very happy to see him.

Dr Kaplan was very caring, explained everything & listened to all our concerns. He made sure we left with the formula we needed and even helped book us a follow up appointment at a different location that is closer to our home.

Dr. Kaplan is an amazing doctor. My son's case is a little complex because he struggles with OCD and he listened and he got all the points that we wanted to get across and he tied it all together and he came up with a great plan and made my son feel so comfortable and positive and gave us hope that we can figure out everything that's going on. I can't say enough.

Dr. Kaplan was very informative and took his time to understand exactly our concerns about the procedure and helped educate us on that procedure, answered all the questions that we had. And what we liked most was that he absolutely took his time in explaining what was really important to us instead of feeling rushed through it, which he did not do at all. So for that reason, I would highly recommend Dr. Kaplan and we're very satisfied. Thank you.
