I recently met with Dr. Coumans for evaluation of my back pain, and I was extremely impressed. He is very affable and easy to converse with which immediately put me at ease. He reviewed my MRI clearly and explained exactly what was causing my symptoms and what options were available to relieve my pain. What I appreciated most was that he truly listened. I told him I wanted to try physical therapy and Cortisone injections before considering surgery and he was completely agreeable to that plan. He explained the realistic expectations of both approaches without any pressure and his manner was calm, respectful and reassuring. It's easy to see why he has such excellent reviews my experience match them_knowledgeable, patient centered, and genuine caring. I left the visit feeling informed and confident about my next steps.

Dr Coumans was exceptionally helpful. He really cared about my back condition and took the extra time to clearly explain the CAT scan results and the condition of my lower back which the appointment was for. Additionally, we discussed my sciatica, and spine curvature. He also provided a physical therapy prescription for my lower back and to improve posture. One of the most thorough, easy to talk to, caring doctor I have ever had experience with

there is just absolutely nobody like Dr. Coumans. He looks you in the eye, he cares about you, he comes out to get you, he's waiting while he walks you back, he listens, he's fabulous, his surgical experience is marvelous. My surgery was fantastic. The problem I'm having now is, on acting nerve pain, and while he isn't able to add anything else because everything from the surgery was fine, he did send me on to somebody else. So I have nothing but positive things to say about him. Also, I was late that day, and he very kindly did not make me feel bad about it. The traffic was awful, and he was very, very nice about it.

Dr Coumans was well prepared for this visit. He had reviewed the MRI and my past neurosurgical history. He took a thorough history and did a good physical examination. He demonstrated my weakness. We discussed a course of action. He emailed Dr [redacted] with information for my upcoming appointment. Very professional.
