Dr. Rahal was kind, reassuring and really cared about me as a patient. He took care of my spinal stenosis and performed a lumbar fusion 2 years ago. Dr. Rahal thoroughly explained the potential causes for my pain and numbness. Using my MRI scan he described in detail possible remedies for my symptoms and recommended that I see a Pain Clinic to remedy my symptoms...surgery, if needed, will discussed at a later visit.

Hi, I saw Dr. Rahal about a week ago, and I was having difficulty with pain. And he said it wasn't anything to do with what they did. They operated above it. It wasn't the same area. This was my SI joint on my sciatica and all this. But bottom line, he asked me if I could, did I forget the pain I had before the surgery? And I said, it's kind of hard to remember. because I'm in pain anyways. And he said, why, do you have trouble with your memory? I thought that was disrespectful. And I said, no. I said, it's just that this pain was with the other pain, so I really couldn't tell, I guess. And I really felt kind of not respected that way. And I was surprised, because I didn't see him as that kind of guy. And so I ended up, and he said, well, let's have you do physical therapy, and then We'll see you in three months and you can see [redacted].

I saw Dr. Rahal 3 years ago before he transitioned over to BWH. I had a flare up with my initial injury and wanted to see him regardless of others referring me to other providers. I felt the first time I was seen he gave me and other doctors I was working with valuable information about my condition that a previous neurosurgeon did not pick up on. That makes a huge difference on the way you proceed with other doctors or possibly surgery.

I saw Dr. Rahal on an emergency basis. He had already had my MRI scan and information forwarded to him so that we could discuss my medical condition. He accepted a call from my PCP prior to my visit . He discussed my diagnosis in depth. I need surgery but he did not push an operation but rather explained the pros and cons, listened to my concerns and provided options for a very serious situation! Top Notch MD!

My experience with this caregiver was the best you could have ever asked from a neurosurgeon. He is good, he's awesome, he's kind, and most of all, he's very friendly, which to me is a very important thing. I don't like people who are stiff.
