I am looking forward to the follow up visit with Dr Kang to discuss the details of the program he has planned for my anticipated up coming surgery. Mainly what the anticipated success rate his former patients have experienced, and a list of some of his clients who may have had the same or similar procedure done.

Dr Kang office is extremely efficient and kind

Dr. Kang is extremely knowledgeable, credentialed, and experienced. I followed him from Pittsburgh from 20 or so years ago. I live in Pennsylvania, and I had my appointment in Boston with him and plan to have a surgery there traveling from Pennsylvania. This is how much I trust and respect Dr. Kang. He is also very kind and attentive. I have seen the provider at the Cleveland Clinic and would still only come to Dr. Kang.

Dr. Kang was wonderful. He was as warm , friendly, and upbeat as the reviews I read had suggested, and he was also laser-focused on my case and situation. It was immediately clear that he was a true expert, and his close reading of my MRI yielded a different diagnosis than I had previously, and thus a different course of treatment. (I wish I had seen Dr. Kang first!) He deduced that I had not a spine problem but a nerve problem and very quickly referred me to a neurologist. I'm so glad I met with Dr. Kang! He seemed very knowledgeable and seasoned as an ortho which was what I was looking for in finding the right one. He mostly listened to me but the 2 things that I did not appreciate were 1) he automatically thinking some symptoms were "anxiety" as written in my clinical notes just because I have it listed on pmh. I also think the appointment felt short and rushed.

I came to Dr. Kang for a second opinion agree being in unrelenting pain for the last 10 weeks. My previous doctors were ignoring my imaging and I felt like I couldn't get anyone to listen to me. It was a very positive experience. I came from Maine for a second opinion and I'm glad I did.

This was my first spinal surgery consult so it was all new and slightly terrifying to me. Dr Kang said to put on my big girl pants which I thought was inappropriate. I am not skin thinned so I let it go. [redacted]

Dr. Kang performed a spinal fusion at L3-L4 which has been a successful outcomes me since day1. I have complete confidence is his skills as a surgeon and have enjoyed his kind and upbeat manner.

When I first arrived I was told that my appointment was not until the end of November. I pointed out that it was on the day I was there. I would not have made an appointment at a time in November when I would be out of state. Anyway, I did get the chance to see my doctor. Everything went well. My doctor is one of the best doctors that I have ever seen. He is smart, with a great sense of humor. He has helped me make some decisions about future appointments at the Brigham. He was very persuasive and helpful. One of the best doctors that I have every had the pleasure of knowing and treating me. For that last reason I have bee lucky.

Dr. Kang is a wonderful, knowledgeable, kind doctor with a good sense of humor. On this particular visit on [redacted], I felt like he was somewhat rushed and didn't hear me quite as well as he usually does because he's an excellent listener. Otherwise, he's great. That's it.

I traveled from [redacted] to see Dr Kang because your on-line information says he specializes in spine-hip syndrome. I have serious spine and hip conditions. I was told he would go over, with me, the MRI images I had done and sent to him. I was told he would then present a plan for my treatment and if this plan involved surgery, offer surgery dates. Dr Kang did not go over my MRI imaging with me. It seems he did not realize I had traveled from [redacted] to see him until the time of my appointment, when I told the nurse and PA about coming from [redacted] because he specializes in working with patients who have both spine and hip problems concurrently. He advised me to " stay away from surgeons" because I can still walk, so neither my spinal or hip conditions are severe enough to have surgery and be happy with the outcome. He offered no recommendations for treatment of my spine or hip. He told me he is a spine surgeon, but that he did write a book on spine- hip syndrome and occasionally works with one of the hip surgeons in his department. The appointment was very brief. He did not ask what I am currently doing to help my conditions and manage pain and he made no recommendations for treatment whatsoever. He was smiling with bright, happy affect throughout the appointment, not even finding out the level of pain and functional impairment I deal with daily, or any treatment recommendations. He apparently had no interest in finding out about my symptoms and conditions or making any type of treatment recommendations since he determined I was not a candidate for surgery at this time, because I can still walk. [redacted]

Both the doctor and the student were respectful and took the time to listen to me, explain things to me and discuss possible options.

Both the Dr and his PA -[redacted]--were both professional, cordial but more importantly able to articulate an objective response to my issues and concerns

Dr. Kang is a very patient person. He listens to everything you have to say. He's kind. He comes in with a big smile on his face like he's known you for a long time. And I trust him. He is a spine doctor. So it's hard to recommend him to anybody only if they have a spine issue. But he's excellent and I'm glad he's part of my team at Brigham and Women's. even though I don't have to see him until I run into another spine issue. And that's it for now.

Dr. Kang is amazing. He listens and explains. He made me feel like I was his only patient that day. Very reassuring and made sure I knew he is there for me going forward if I need him.

And I was kind of pushed off by both the fellow and Dr. Kang as someone who doesn't need surgery and someone who has from moderate to severe stenosis. And I couldn't see the images. [redacted]

Dr Kang explained my condition in easy to understand words. My wife was able to take part in our discussion concerning my condition via FaceTime. Dr. Kang answered all her questions and was able to see my MRI's and CT Scan via FaceTime.

Yes, I was really at the end of, not my wits, but just trying to get some relief from my back situation. And I think I finally got it after almost a year. And the doctor was highly recommended. It was an Excellent Experience

After reviewing my MRI's and CT-Scans, Dr. Kang explained what was going on with my complex back problems in a way that made sense to me. Using the MRI images, Dr. Kang showed me exactly what was wrong and why I was having such debilitating pain. We then discussed surgery and he explained exactly how he was going to address the problems and answered all of my questions . He pulled out his phone and we booked the surgery date!

I have complex issues regarding my lumbar spine. I had five back surgeries within 5 months 11 years ago with another surgeon at a different hospital.
