I had not met this provider (Dr. DeCarvalho) before as he was covering for Dr. Han who is on maternity leave. He was familiar with my previous history and was able to address the questions that I had.

The Dr took time to explain the procedure and answer all my questions. He was great to put me at ease as this was the first time I had ever had any procedure like this, outside of annual physicals or a recent colonoscopy.

I can't imagine being taken care of better by both the nurse and the doctor doing the perineal biopsy. I just felt very well taken care of every step of the way. That's it.

[redacted] At the appointment, we learned this doctor doesn't do UD testing... he's a urological oncologist! Too bad, because we both thought he was great! This office and doctor are among the best in the BWH/MGH system that I have seen, across 30+ years and on all of your campuses. Everyone balances professionalism with friendliness, and I was seen so promptly that it confused me! Dr. Carvalho remembered me from two years ago, and was personable as well as pragmatic. Everyone helped me feel at ease, which can be difficult in this speciality.
