Professional and encouraging.

This provider gave me the most thorough exam I've ever had, which was greatly appreciated. Quite literally from head to toe, he even took my socks off with my permission. That is what we as a country need in our Primary Care Providers. He spent quite a bit of time with me, and we had an in depth history and he got a the best picture of me as a patient he could on our first visit together. As a larger person, he did not shame me for my weight, like so many providers have in the past. He obviously did his job and stated that he would like me to have a healthier diet and exercise more, he didn't ignore the subject. But he didn't harp on it, either. That was awesome. I would like to see him next time with med students or residents because he really seems like the type of PCP that the next generation should be learning from.

Well, I would like to say that this provider is just an exceptional doctor. He's probably the best primary care physician I have ever had. He is so thorough and very respectful. He has a sense of humor. He's extremely knowledgeable. It took me a long time to get this appointment, but let me tell you something. It was well worth the wait. Thank you.

Dr. Aponte-Rivera is a very pleasant, thorough, cautious and caring doctor. The longer I know him, the more I appreciate and understand his cautious approach to treatment. He thoroughly explains his rationale for everything, which is rather refreshing, and while I might not always like it, I always leave completely understanding why where he's coming from. I'm really quite happy that he's my PCP. It's evident that he truly is all about really caring for his patients.

I wish he would have cared more about my headaches, it seemed like he gave a very automated response, talking about drinking water and other common things which I already do.

Dr. Rivera took the time to explain all my concerns very thoroughly so that I could understand what he was explaining to me.

Very professional, listened when I spoke, no judgement or belittling, calm when he spoke and explained whatever he was trying to convey. Very comfortable with him and he has my trust. That kinda says it all, eh?

Dr. Aponte-Rivera consistently provides top tier care and ensures that my concerns are addressed. He is very methodical with his approach and I couldn't ask for a better primary care experience!

I will not be going back to Dr. Aponte. He talks to me like I'm a child. [redacted] Never has enough time and reminds me quite often. We only have 10 minutes and if I have other things to talk about he tells me to make another appointment. He gets very annoyed when I don't answer his questions. The way he wants me to and interrupts me every time when I'm trying to explain myself.

Dr. Aponte Rivera is very efficient. He was helpful in making sure that my thyroid condition was being treated with an appropriate level of medicine. He also was helpful in discussing any hearing examination or testing. Also was supportive in directing me to Physical Therapy to address my concerns regarding my posture as well.

Dr. Aponte-Rivera is extremely knowledgeable and competent. His asset, however, does not seem to welcome a lot of questions, which I find difficult, but I'm sure it's fine for the people. And it's just perhaps a personality difference, I don't question his knowledge, his ability. He did exactly what I needed. He educated me and it was just his approach is a little different from one that I might find more welcoming. Not that I would change providers or make it a big negative. I wish I could have spent more time to explain a lot more to the doctor. They don't give you enough time between each patient. 15 minutes is ridiculous.

Dr. Aponte-Rivera is a wonderful primary care very compassionate and taking the time listening to your fears and worries. My son has pancreatic cancer and was diagnosed one year ago at that time I turned to Dr. Aponte that I knew the results of this horrible disease but neither he nor I said Andy was going to die at some time. I am very grateful to Dr. Aponte he patiently explained that I should see a Psychiatrist who will provide medication to help the stress I am going through and will see me to the end whenever that happens. I will recommend him to anyone looking for a new Primary Care he is exceptional.

My first visit with a new PCP and I was impressed with his skills and demeanor

It was only my second visit but it confirmed that I made the right choice when changing doctors (and locations). Everyone was friendly, kind and professional.

Dr Aponte-Rivera was personable, thorough and addressed all my concerns. He listened carefully to me and I didn't feel at all rushed. I am delighted with him being my new PCP going forward!

The dr was interested and receptive to talking to me. He did not make me feel that he was exceeding the amount of time he was allowed to spend with me. I thoroughly enjoyed not feeling rushed - a change from other experiences at massgeneral.
