I saw three people...first, a woman who did an eye exam using the mirrors; second, a young male who started the conversation with "Tell me, in your own words, what's going on with your vision," which I really appreciated. He typed out my responses. Then I saw Dr. Vavvas, who also asked questions and reviewed notes, and did an exam. I was most impressed that they all asked me questions and allowed me to ask questions, and answered my questions to my satisfaction. (My previous provider was good at talking TO ME, rather than WITH ME.)

Elevators need update

My appt was at 2pm & didn't get seen by dr until 330. Waiting an hour & half unacceptable.

My experience for two times I've been in the office with Dr. Vavvas has been the most pleasurable doctor visit I've ever had. He's compassionate, he's kind, he's interested in what you have to say, he's knowledgeable, he lets you speak and never seems rushed. He always has a smile on his face and the fellows that are in his office that train under him are just exceptional as well. The receptionist is lovely. Every time I call, every time I'm in the office, I can't say enough. If I could rate them 100, I would.

It was very good

The provider is very knowledgeable, but he's always in a big hurry. So I feel he gives you the impression that he doesn't want to spend too much time with you. He enters there, he just says one or two sentences, and then he's ready to deal with his fellows, and you automatically feel you should leave. So there isn't much communication. Although he's very knowledgeable, he's very good, but he spends very little time discussing.

Yes, I have great respect for Dr. Vavvas and he has done a wonderful job for me in terms of my initial surgery for detached retina and follow-up care. One comment, I wish I could have had a bit more time with him on my most recent appointment, but that is all I would have to comment on. Thank you.

The visit was fine. My appointment was at 2:50 and I saw Dr. Vavvas at 5 o'clock. So in between there were pictures and I saw another doctor. That's still a long time to wait, but that's okay.

they were very thorough and it's a little complicated with my eyes so they did many tests trying to figure it out and I have some follow up work to do. I have some test I have to have done and then go back and see the doctor so at this point so best it can be.

He was very thorough, answered all of my questions and was willing to look up my congenital bone disease to see if it would affect outcomes of the surgery. He was open to ideas and provided any research he had concerning my questions.

I have been seeing Dr. Vavvas for many, many, many years, almost 18, and this last visit was the quickest visit that I have experienced. I've always been there three plus hours for an appointment, but this last appointment I was in and out within one hour and I appreciated it so much. And I'm not sure what the change was, but for someone who's been coming for so many years, it was noticed and appreciated and helpful to get out in a quicker manner.

I have been a patient of Mast Eye and Ear, specifically about retina issues, for 10 years. This provider, Dr. Vavvas, really gave me what I needed, which is not just the retina treatment, which is very important in the past time, but looking at the entire eye and eyeball, which is which has had some trouble. And I didn't know that I could go to a provider like Dr. Vavvas. If I had known, I would have gone earlier. Done.

Dr. Vavvas has always been terrific with me. He has told me exactly what the condition of my sight in my eye is and has listened to me when I've had concerns or questions.
