I have to say, every time I go to Brigham Women's in Boston, Francis Street, or Faulkner Hospital, or Foxboro, I have nothing but the best doctors and the best nurses. I can't say enough. So, I'm planning to have a surgery with Dr. Spector. I just met him that one time, but I felt like I know him for my whole life just because we spent a couple hours. So, nothing but praises for Brigham Women's, Faulkner, Francis Street, Foxboro, and thank you.

Dr. Spector took a lot of time to speak with me, especially for a surgeon. He may speak in riddles at times, but is clear he cares for his patients and knows what he is doing. [redacted]

Not really sure what the final say was. Not sure what he wants to do. Got a call from another doctor so don't know if he handed me off to them? Don't think there was a plan of action as far as I know.

The office was running behind on appointments and Dr. Spector made sure to come in and let me know that. And I really appreciated him telling me and making sure I was comfortable and if I needed anything and resetting the expectation. I can't remember her name, but there was another doctor that came in was great and very helpful and I had a good experience at the office.

Dr Spector took a lot of time to look at my situation, and explain the surgery to me, and the "important details" medical person took a lot of time to understand my health history, including detailed overall advise that I have not heard from a provider in a while.

I went into this apt expecting to focus on my hernias. When asked if I would " be triggered" if we talked about my weight I laughed it off. However after being told there was no way I'd be able to loose weight on my own, that I was " on my way to 40 BMI" and there was a " 75 percent chance I'd die due to my weight" if I didn't have bariatric surgery. I was completely turned off from this surgeon. He pushed the sleeve so hard that I feel like he has a personal stake financially. I am honest with my self and understand where I'm at with my weight and if this was an apt to Discuss my issue with weight I'd understand but it wasn't. [redacted] I also tried to discuss past history and he shut me down immediately and wouldn't allow me to speak on it. I was shocked at how much I felt like I was talking to a salesmen. [redacted]

This doctor questioned by choice of making an appt at BWH v going back to where I had the original surgery. I explained my valid reasons and he continued to question it. I then let him know if he did not want me as a patient he did not have to, to which he reacted stating again that I should be back at [redacted] where I had the surgery but he will take me on as a patient. It is okay to inquire, but to push and then make the patient feel uncomfortable for reaching out to establish care is inappropriate. I am also a healthcare provider and while I have my professional and personal reasons for seeking care at BWH v [redacted] for this particular speciality, I do not feel that I owe this provider a complete explanation as to why. He is clearly very knowledgeable, however, a better listening ear v. reacting ear would be beneficial.

Dr Spector He explained the steps that would be taken for both options and asked about our preference for the type of surgery and concurred that we are making the right decision. He diagramed the 2 methods he could use to solve my hernia problem. Both my wife and I were very pleased with his approach as well as the time he spent with us explaining the benefits of each of the solutions.
