Everything was fine, they treated me very well. They explained what I had to do, and they told me if I wanted to do it because they wouldn't forget. If I wanted to do it, I was available; it all depended on me. In other words, they treated me very well.

Basic appointment with limited explanation about test results. Just that things looked good and didn't change much.

Dr Friedman has hung in there with me through complete blindness to restored vision and the many complications through out my ordeal. He listens very carefully to me because I am an unusual case. I appreciate him very much.

Dr Friedman is extremely knowledgeable and is providing me with the best care possible. He runs a very efficient office with on time appointments.

He is the only Dr to figure out the problem. I have been to six ophthalmologists, but I guess they didn't have the most advanced equipment to understand and see, no pun intended, what is happening in my iris. He explained everything in a way I could understand it and I felt a little less scared about my eye and that it could be fixed.

Dr. Friedman is an amazing provider. I came to him with extremely serious Glaucoma. I had had multiple surgeries and still was not in a safe Optic Nerve pressur number. He performed surgery five years ago- I've been stable with low pressures ever since. I owe my vision to this man. Dr. Friedman is one of the best doctors I have ever had in my entire life (I am in my late 60's). He is one of the top glaucoma specialists in the U.S., but you'd never hear that from him as he is too modest to tell you that. The provider had two people (assuming interns) come into the room during my appointment. He did not ask if they could come in, he just brought them with him and introduced them as a doctor from China and a nurse(?) student from Turkey. I later found out that it's my right to be able to deny this. I was taken aback that he just brought them in without asking. It made the appointment more awkward. I might have been more ok with it had I been asked or given prior notice. In addition, towards the end of our conversation, it felt like he was rushing me out. He abruptly told me that I could leave and then shut the door behind me, assuming to talk to the interns. I felt like his attitude was somewhat flippant. [redacted]

This was first visit with Dr. Friedman. Appreciate his listening to me. He is going to check on something for me. He did show me a 'thinning area'. Would like to understand more about this situation. Cannot think as fast as would like on the spur of the moment am concentrating on listening.

Doctor was personable with an easygoing personality which I appreciated. However, I got the sense that he did not really know the details of my case accurately, or at least was not communicative enough in a way that would make me feel that he did. I did not get thorough explanations about the procedures being proposed. Maybe there was an assumption that I knew more than I actually did because I had shared that another doctor had already prescribed one of the surgeries.
