Dr. Daphne Haas-Kogan has served as the combined chair of radiation oncology for both Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute since 2015.
She earned an undergraduate degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Harvard University, an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an MD from the University of California, San Francisco, where she completed her residency in radiation oncology and post-doctoral fellowship in molecular neuro-oncology. Joining Boston in 2015, Dr. Haas-Kogan became a pivotal figure in radiation oncology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She holds the Willem and Corrie Hees Family Professorship at Harvard Medical School and was elected to the National Academy of Medicine.
Dr. Haas-Kogan is renowned for her research on brain tumors and pediatric cancer, leading numerous grants from the National Institutes of Health, the National Cancer Institute, philanthropic groups, and industry collaborations. Her focus on targeted and biologic treatments in pediatric cancers drives her laboratory work, translational science, and clinical trials.
