2 hours late [redacted] am appointment, no explanation no apology. Made no reference or explanation of X-rays before appointment. Did not perform any examination of injured joint.

I found the provider to be very arrogant and rude. Asked why I was there and I said I fell and hurt my hip and had difficulty and my doctor recommended a visit he then asked if my doctor had a medical degree why would they send there and then raised his voice and told me that I was taking the place of someone who needs care. His body language was standing and talking to me with his arms wrapped around his chest and basically letting me know I was wasting his time. He seemed to be very arrogant and cranky! I have never had this type of experience at Mass General Brigham. I have the upmost respect for everyone who has taken care of me and was quite upset by this doctor's behavior.

Dr Estok gave me excellent advice about my knees with a view to the healthiest long-term medical treatment. I'm not a candidate for knee replacement surgery and Dr Estok clearly articulated the reasons and recommended a sensible conditioning program combined with me needing to moderate my athletic expectations as I am now in my 60s. It's difficult to accept age-related changes and limitations but I respect Dr Estok's holistic diagnosis and recommendations and they were in my best physical interests. Excellent orthopedic advice.

Dr. Estok is an experienced expert in the field and uniquely qualified to handle my complex condition with optimal surgical results. He provided thorough, thoughtful responses to my questions and practical advice to manage ongoing issues for best long term outcomes for me. I was fortunate to have found a surgeon with such extensive knowledge and experience.

He was demeaning, disrespectful, made me feel humiliated for wasting his time. Did not have any empathy for the pain I was in. Would not listen to why I was there.

When I saw Dr. Estok, it was to get a second opinion on my knee situation. He was extremely pompous, didn't listen to my questions, never looked at the x-ray that he made me take right before seeing him. We got nowhere in our discussion. He was angry that he was being asked to give a second opinion on another MGD doctor, it would seem. [redacted] He was rude and immediately cut me off to tell me how much he knew about this and that. And I left the exam room dumber than when I went in. [redacted]

The provider was able to listen & offer a plan to move forward with my recovery.

I found Dr Estock continues to really care about learning how I am doing after several years post surgery. He asked many questions, had me demonstrate how I would attempt to tie my shoe laces, then took the time to point out how I could accomplish this task easier and safer! I will miss visiting with him as he plans to retire in two years and my next app't is in three. I know how fortunate I was to have had such an accomplished surgeon [redacted]
