Dafang Zhang, MD

My experience with Dr. Zhang is amazing, one of the nicest guys I've ever met, and I hopefully don't have to see him again, but if I do, I will gladly be a patient of his and recommend him to other friends and family. Fantastic guy, great doctor.

Dr. Zhang was very knowledgeable in what approach was best for my wrist and he explained himself well and what my next steps were and I thought his bedside manner was very good. His team reached out to me in a timely manner to setup the rest if my appointments.

He promptly provided the required treatment for my condition. Maybe could have given me a local anesthetic like ice before giving the cortisone shots.

Dr. Zhang has been the absolute best orthopedic that I've ever seen. He has been so kind and patient and listens to everything I have to say and the carpal tunnel release surgery went off without any issues at all whatsoever. I couldn't be happier.

This provider was concerning in the way that he approached providing care. When I became a little bit emotional, I felt like I was going to have, might cry, so I asked him for a minute to myself just to compose myself, and he didn't come back for 30 minutes. And when he was walking out the door, I saw him, a micro expression on his face where he smirked when he realized that I was about to cry and at that point, nothing about that appointment was professional. Nothing he said after that applied because this person had already dismissed me right at the beginning of the session and shown that he had disdain towards me for anything that I was saying. So this session did not go well at all and it was mostly dismissive. [redacted]

[redacted] I don't know if he reviewed my mris or X-rays but just told me to do whatever my original ortho suggested - whatever that was. Not helpful at all I felt like he was smirking at me the whole time

My visit went well. The doctor met with me after an x-ray of my shoulder. He prescribed physical therapy. What really irritates me is this follow up question regarding my visit.

He is great! It is so easy to get an appointment.

It was a great appointment. Very efficient and on time, which is a rare treat. I am not sure if the diagnosis or treatment is effective yet as my hand seems to have increased in pain since the appointment. Patient though and confident in the doctors feedback.

My experience was excellent. I was very impressed with the doctor and the whole office. The system was really very, very, very good. Everyone was very caring and professional. I just hope I get an appointment for my surgery. I'm awaiting that. There was one set up, but it had to be canceled. So I'm waiting for a second date. But other than that, I'm looking forward to going back to the practice. And as I said, everything about it was five star. So thank you and I'm looking forward to hearing back.

I was petrified and in my head for the hour drive when I got there everything was to easy to follow neat and organized which helped my anxiety I also commend the reception staff, nurses, doctor and even the security guard, and dray department. They all helped make this process go smoothly! I am so happy I came all the way out here. Dr.Zhang was so compassionate and gentle with removing my stitches I even needed a break he offered me water and he jumped right up got his nurse and she came in with a ginger ale she sat with me and talked me through it while he worked his magic. He was and is very good

Dr Zhang rushed through the visit, & did not review the imaging that took two years to get. - Dr focused entirely on addressing an occasional symptom in my forearm that does NOT bother me. - He offered NO treatment whatsoever for the two year constant unbearable pain in both shoulders that I was supposed to see him for.

Friendly, efficient, was able to talk and explain. I am not sure if it's true that I can return to work the day after surgery. I will call and address this concern.

We spoke about our last visit and no improvement, I received a shot in my wrist for osteoarthritis and discussed the impinged nerve in my elbow {I was wearing a brace}. He explained the numbness and pain in my wrist was being caused by my elbow and that I had to have surgery. He explained everything and left there not feeling like I had questions

I am grateful that they were able to squeeze me in I was in a great deal of pain!

Dr Zhang new immediately what was wrong in my hand when he looked at it. He explained there is nothing to do unless my finger can't lay straight, then they can do surgery.

Despite being the first time I saw Dr Zhang, he was extremely knowledgeable about my accident and prior procedures. I arrived before my appointment and was escorted directly to the examination room. He was punctual, interpreted the diagnosis and meticulously explained the next steps.

i came early to the office as there was to be a pro football game at this complex the day of my appointment... The front office person made a phone call to the right people and I was able to be seen early and out of there before the football crowd started to arrive in large numbers. my wife and I were very happy. thank you

I had to answer many questions on a tablet and wait a little to see the Dr., but he was very pleasant and explained everything perfectly. He took care of my needs very efficiently.

I appreciate the speed with which I was seen at this practice. The doctor was helpful. I do feel that at most MGH appointments, you have a narrow window to sort of "rattle off" your case history before the doctor stops listening. I would have appreciated more time to discuss my symptoms and history. I understand that the records are available for electronic review, but I question how much pre-reading the physician actually has time to do given patient loads. Understand that there are variations to patient education and interest. As a patient that spends more time understanding their condition (and has a high level of obtained education), I would appreciate an opportunity to dive a bit deeper.

Dr Zhang was was very well informed about my reason for the visit & had clearly reviewed the xrays before my visit. He was able to quickly diagnose the cause & recommend appropriate treatment.

I think the MD is probably very knowledgeable however when I became somewhat confused with his diagnosis, based on what I had been told by other provider's involved with my symptoms/care so far, I felt he was somewhat condescending and annoyed and was pushing for surgery when I am already working on some other prescribed, less invasive treatments, early stages.

This was the first time I had seen this provider. The appointment was great; he explained everything to me in a manner I could understand and made me feel comfortable about impending surgery on my hand. He was warm and considerate with a 1st time patient.

Dr. Zhang has a wonderful, and very knowledgeable in his explanations of the procedure I'm having done. He brought along an assistant who also was involved in the conversations that we were having at the time. And very, very gracious and knowledgeable and a pleasure to meet.
