Sometimes when you do not see a provider for a long length of time and they do not review your records, it sometimes like you never saw them before and if the patient that has to bring them up to speed. This was not the case with Dr. Richards. He knew everything about my history and was completely up to speed on who I was. His first line of questions was exactly as it should be to fill in the time from when I last saw him to now. It is a good feeling when a Doctor is present in an appointment and you are his priority. Dr. Richards is the man. He was prepared for this new patient appointment, having clearly read through my chart and medical history from Tufts Pulmonology. He was patient, personable, perceptive, and legitimately funny. He was not dissuaded by the relative vagueness and complexity of my case and seemed genuinely up for a challenge. It meant a lot to come out of the appointment with new things to try (a new prescription, a new test) to learn more about what might be wrong with me.

I like Dr. Richards very much and the people in her offices are wonderful, especially the girl that had to do my testing, a nurse, I presume, a caretaker. But Dr. Richards is wonderful. He explains everything to everybody and you never have to wait for him longer than five to ten minutes when you schedule for your appointment and the tests I had to take. I've already recommended him to two other friends and I thank you because he's, I wish all my doctors explained things to me in English and simple language as he does. It's a pleasure to work with someone like him and his staff.

This was a scheduled appointment so it might better to expand the options to answer that question. I like to say how much I value and appreciate Dr Richards. He's an invaluable asset to MGH, I've been under His care for about six years now, and it's not an understatement to say He saved My life! I was exposed to mold from China that was embedded in Ultrasound Systems that I was working on and I inadvertently had inhaled the spores. Many months later I had lost almost seventy pounds, I lost my sense of Smell and Taste wasn't eating or sleeping. I was unable to lay down to sleep due to the Mucous in my lungs, My Doctors at York Hospital unable to Help Me. Now I know this might be hard to believe and I'm not sure if I've even told Dr. Richards this but I PRAYED to God to lead Me to a Dr. That could help Me. I logged onto MGH's website and He was the first Doctor I found. He immediately began an in-depth interview with Me asking a lot of questions about My life, where I lived, worked and it was during His investigation that I recalled the event that I had initially disregarded. The opening of those Mylar Bags that held the Ultrasound Systems and the Mold They contained. His relentless inquires proved His determination to Help Me! All the details are in My records at MGH. Words can't express My Gratitude for His Care! Now I'd also like to point out that everyone at MGH that I've had the pleasure of encountering during this time have been so Kind and Professional! I would like to encourage Your Management Staff to recognize the importance of each member of the Hospital staff.

I enjoy my appointments with Dr Richards, I always learn something new from him. This time I was telling him I was using a humidifier next to my bed every night for my lung issues. He told me to stop immediately because the bacteria I have in my lungs thrives in moisture. I did not know that and I was glad Dr Richards stepped in to educate me on the use of humidifiers by people with bacterial lung infections. That's why my appointments are always important with Dr Richards. We spoke about many issues and they all were a benefit to me.
