Briana June Burris, DDS

Dr. Briana June Burris is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who recently completed a two-year fellowship in endoscopic maxillofacial surgery and minimally invasive temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) after completing her residency training at Harbor-UCLA, a busy Level I Trauma Center serving Los Angeles, CA. After fellowship, Dr. Burris was retained as attending faculty and Associate Program Director of the oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) residency training program at MGH-Harvard Medical School (HMS), with Instructor appointments at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Harvard Medical School. In 2025, Dr. Burris was promoted to Program Director of the MGH-HMS OMFS residency training program. Dr. Burris is an academic-surgeon with research focus on the diagnosis and management of immune-based synovial membrane diseases of the TMJ. She collaborates with colleagues and educational companies to train surgeons worldwide on performing safe, effective TMJ arthroscopy and open arthroplasty.

Dr. Burris is an invited international lecturer, who lectured on evaluation and surgical management of TMJ arthropathies in England and New Zealand. She has given didactic lectures for many renowned institutions, including Harvard, Harbor-UCLA, UPENN, Columbia, USC, Emory, Case Western, Tuft's, Rutgers, Cook County Hospital, and VCU. Dr. Burris has instructed live demonstrations on injection of neuromodulators across the U.S, and has instructed U.S-trained and International surgeons on the basics of TMJ arthroscopy and open surgery, at multiple-day hands-on cadaveric surgical training courses.

In her time outside the hospital, Dr. Burris enjoys golfing, sailing, and painting.
