    I am a new patient to this practice. Dr. Smerkers had a background knowledge of the purpose of my visit, listened to me and discussed options and implications of each option, settling on one we both felt comfortable with.     This was my first encounter with Dr. Smerkers. He was very personable and professional. We discussed family medical hx as well as personal medical hx. Dr. Smerkers asked about general home life and daily activity and fitness routine. We discussed current medications. After having a wonderful PCP leave her practice I was a bit concerned about starting with a new PCP. Dr. Smerkers quickly put me at ease.

    This was my first time meeting Dr. Smerkers. He was recently assigned to me as my new PCP. My previous physician for 9 years left MGH and primary care practice. Waiting for a new PCP was extremely stressful. Brian Joseph Smerkers, M.D. could not have been more professional or caring. He was truly and fully present to me during my appointment. I came away from our interactions trusting his clinical judgement and respecting him as both a doctor and a person. I am so grateful to be under his care!
