Doctor Hoffman has an arrogant attitude. He may be skillful but he brushes off any concerns I attempted to voice and refused to even consider the MRI report or CD which I had serious concerns over, esp since I have correlating symptoms and pain that have been severely impacting my mobility. (The MRI was ordered by another Doctor in the same Practice, btw, to which he could have at least shown respect towards.) I know that I have ankle arthritis and he treated that and would not even hear me about the shin pain and the pain I have alongside the tibia & fibula, besides the worsening heal pain. He honed in on the arthritis solely.

Dr. Hoffman was very attentive. I really liked him the first time I met him. And I think everything's going to work out fine for my surgery. [redacted] And I was very satisfied with everything that happened that day. Thank you.

Dr. Hoffman walked into the room in a positive, upbeat manner. He was very, very friendly, made me feel very comfortable, showed me my x-rays, explained everything that was wrong with my foot, made suggestions, and then ended the visit. It was excellent. I highly, highly, highly recommend him.

He is wonderful and very, very instructive as far as being an advocate for what I need as far as my needs and to get them in the conditions so that I can do activities that I need to. Dr Hoffman was fantastic. As the ex assistant to the Physician-in-Chief Emeritus/Director of Research at Mass General, I have a pretty good idea of what constitutes and excellent physician. My previous surgeon was a bit vague on a complication resulting from surgery at Haywood Hospital in Gardner. I left that appointment feeling a bit confused and rushed out the door. Thankfully, when I got a second opinion from Dr. Hoffman, he took much more time to explain my medical issue, and I left feeling much better and more enlightened about my condition. I am grateful for his competency and attention to detail.

The provider was friendly, personable, interested in me, very nice to my wife, got to the point, showed me through manipulation of my legs that what the problem was not, had at his fingertips the x-ray taken of my hip, which I thought was the source of all this discomfort I've been having. And he showed me that the x-ray, which I had not seen anywhere else, and explained that it was actually a very healthy hip and not even any sign of arthritic compromise to my hip.

While I have no issue with the provider, I do feel the appointment was totally unnecessary. It had been determined previously that hip surgery was recommended. This very brief meeting with the surgeon to reiterate the fact was a waste of time. Especially as nothing was scheduled during the appointment.

Dr. Hoffman understood my issue. He listened carefully to me, and offered immediate and longer range therapies for my issues. He had a most pleasant demeanor and spoke in a way that made his analysis of my issue clear and reassuring. His solutions were precise and he noted the upside and possible downside of each possibility. It was wonderful and productive visit. I will follow his suggestions immediately.

Dr Hoffman was pleasant and engaged, although there was some confusion at times in our dialogue as I sought to better understand what he was telling me.

Given that lots of X-rays were taken, it would have been helpful to look at them to discuss patient concerns.

Dr Hoffman was very helpful. My only complaint is about scheduling a follow up appt for a cortisone shot to relieve pain in my foot. Having to wait 2 weeks for that is not ideal.

I found the provider to be knowledgeable, but slightly condescending, not really listening completely, very kind of perky and in a rush. So very quick to kind of move on and humor, but not also taking things seriously. So thanks.

Dr Hoffman remembered me from a previous appointment 2 years ago. That made me feel good right at the start. He listened to what I had to say about what was causing me pain He explained a good treatment plan for me to treat my pain in my Right hip. Very happy and satisfied with the visit

Hello. So this doctor was trying to isolate the source of great crippling pain in my left knee. And the treatment was an injection of Novocain in my knee, and then basically abuse my knee, do all of the things that should aggravate it, and discover whether the Novocain subdues the pain or not. And I did those things. The Novocain did suppress 99.9% of the pain. The 0.1% may have isolated the epicenter. And other parts of my body paid a great toll for doing so. I had to call out of work on Monday. My appointment was Friday. I had two hours to do this before the Novocain wore off. And I was reluctant to be harsh on my body, and I decided to be so.

I have seen several different doctors at Hampshire orthopedics and are very pleased with all of them.

1st meeting / consult with Dr. Hoffman went well. His responses to my concerns were honest and spot on, in line with an experienced no bs confident surgeon.

I have seen Dr Hoffman for another problem years ago he was straight and to the point at that time as he was this time.. I appreciate this in his manner..

I usually prefer female providers, but Dr. Hoffman was engaged, kind, and respectfully explained things. It was a positive experience, and I would return. I do not usually feel comfortable in these situations, but the provider made me feel heard and comfortable.

I was very glad to have Dr. Hoffman as the physician for my ankle problem because he performed a bilateral knee replacement for me in January of [redacted] and I was absolutely delighted with it.

I saw Dr. Hoffman. My wait time was very short. He was professional, kind and friendly. His explanations were clear, he went over my X-rays with me and also used other visuals (poster in exam room) to ensure that I understood my situation. I left feeling informed and reassured. He made it clear that I was to reach out with any concerns.

Dr. Hoffman was rude, condescending, belligerent, and sarcastic. I appreciated that he answered all of my questions but he made it very clear that he thought many of them were stupid questions. He seems like a very skilled and competent surgeon, but I would prefer to have a surgeon who actually sees me as a person and not just a joint to be repaired, and I did not get the sense that he had any respect for me as a person.
